Student Day 2005 In collaboration with the Centre of Cyber Logistics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, this year s Student Day was successfully held in the afternoon of 12 March 2005 at the LT1, Esther Lee Building, Chung Chi College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong with over 200 guests and members attending. Nine tertiary institutions including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi Nexus), of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong, LIFE of Lingnan University and Hong Kong College of Technology took part in this competition. Just like last year, each team was given a topic on logistics or transport at random and was allowed one and a half hours to prepare a presentation in English. The competition was tense as the participating students competed strongly under challenge from peers from other universities and institutes. The standard of all entrants was high and as such, it was difficult for the judge to choose the winner from among them. Ultimately, the best performance by the team from City University of Hong Kong won the Championship while the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up awards went to the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi Nexus) respectively. It was really an enjoyable and valuable academic event to territory institutions. The next Student Day 2006 will be held at Lingnan University. Mr. K.Y.
