Research in education, innovative learning & teaching methods have shown that the age-old methods of teaching and learning do not work, anymore. New methods such as incidental learning, context-based learning, learning by doing, active learning, cross-over learning and other novel methods are in practice in many countries, particularly, in

Today, a lot of emphasis is placed on student-centered learning, use of mobile & other advanced technology in teaching, research & project-based learning, use of internet tools to enhance the classroom experience, use of cloud network to retrieve learning resources instantly, when required. Blackboards/white boards have become redundant in many countries and are being replaced with modern tools such as Notebook, Touchpad and Mobile phones. These technologies have offered greater opportunities for the teachers to be very creative and use such creative technologies in their instructional methods. On another note, teachers further comment that issues such as distractions and disciplinary issues do not crop up in the classroom when the students are engaged in active learning with the modern devices to improve their understanding on a particular topic.
