The Most Popular place to see is turkey What are the similarities between Noah's Ark, the Trojan Horse, and Aesop's fables? Turkey is the answer! According to archaeologists, Mt. Ararat, where Noah's Ark landed after the Great Flood, is thought to be Agri Dagi in eastern Turkey. The well-known Trojan War (as depicted in Homer's Iliad) is said to have occurred in western Turkey, and a wooden Trojan horse still stands there today. Finally, Aesop, the fable-teller, was a native of Anatolia, or Asia Minor, Turkey's mainland, and Asian region.

This references Turkey's colourful role in international history and the fascinating attractions that await visitors to the country. If the traveller is a history lover, he will undoubtedly have a great time touring castle ruins, old battlegrounds, palaces, and many other historical sites.

Turkey is unique in that it is located on two continents: Europe and Asia. Thrace refers to the European portion of the region, whereas Anatolia refers to the Asian part. Ankara is the capital, and Istanbul, Izmir, and Adana are the principal cities. Istanbul is the largest and popular city in turkey, and it was formerly the capital of three powerful empires: the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman. Turkey has been referred to as both "Europe's door to Asia" and "Asia's doorway to Europe" due to its strategic location. Local officials now refer to the nation as the "Gateway to Paradise" while promoting tourism. Turkey's title is fitting since the country has much to offer even the most discerning traveller.

Its beaches are at the top of the list and are best visited from May through October. Turkey has a 7,200-kilometer coastline bordered by the Black Sea, the Aegean Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. As a result, water sports like surfing, diving, sailing, and rafting have become increasingly popular. Turkey is a popular location for sporting events in general. Golfers, oil wrestlers, mountaineers, and winter sports enthusiasts regularly visit the region to participate in these events. Turkey's architectural landmarks, mosques, caravanserais, museums, gardens and parks, historical towns (particularly Troy), bazaars, and vibrant nightlife are also worth visiting (notably in Istanbul).

When in Istanbul, one must see the Hagia Sophia (formerly the world's largest Christian cathedral), the Blue Mosque (Istanbul's most famous mosque), the Topkapi Palace (a former sultan's house), and the Bosphorus Strait (exactly where East and West, or Asia and EuropeFree Articles, literally meet). If you want to visit those lovely places, then apply for your turkey e visa and pack your bags to look at the beauty of these mind-blowing places.
