Now in its 18th year, the festival has stayed true to its vision of offering fun, safe, interactive activities for children and families of all backgrounds and abilities. With the generous support of our community sponsors and volunteers, the festival is now a regional favourite, noted on thousands of family calendars each summer as a must attend event! In its first year, the festival attracted a modest 600 people. With assistance from more than 200 community volunteers, this family favourite has grown into a festival that attracts thousands of people each year from across Markham, the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario. It is described by our long-serving sponsors as a model for other festivals to follow. Our street festival format provides children s activities and entertainment at every turn. Lively entertainment including mascots and clowns will roam Festival streets lined with food vendors, Children s Activity Zones and a Community Park. The festival Main Stage offers a gathering spot for visitors to sit, eat, relax and take in hourly shows that showcase Markham s diversity. The Children s Activity Zones are in a covered area so the kids are sheltered for continuous enjoyment throughout the day - rain or shine! These interactive zones showcase family-oriented products, services and activities. York Region Ambulance and Markham Fire & Emergency Services will be on hand to provide fun and educational experiences. The popularity of this Festival continues to grow, giving our sponsors greater exposure year-over-year. The Markham- Milliken Children s Festival offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities to suit your budget and brand exposure interests. You can become a Presenting Sponsor sponsor of the event, or sponsor the Community Park, Children s Activity Zones, entertainment or Ticket Booths. You can also have a Festival Street named for your organization. 3 Profiling Your Business Through Sponsorship Custom packages may be designed to suit your marketing needs. A sponsorship with the Markham-Milliken Children s Festival means your corporate name and/or logo will have profile on print advertising including strategically placed outdoor advertising distributed throughout the community and select newspaper ads, PLUS volunteer t-shirts and the Markham -Milliken Children s Festival website with a link to your company s web page of choice. We will also provide booth space at the event and recognize your organization during the Opening Ceremony. Media Exposure York Region and GTA radio and television media frequent the event. The Festival will run its advertising campaign throughout the summer, leading up to Festival day in August. The Main Stage is also the backdrop for Festival attendees to have their picture taken with our mascots, which include Milliken Millie, superheroes and Disney characters.
