1 RAILWAY AGE OCTOBER presented by railway age october arlington, va key bridge marriott 2016 program

2 Overview Railway Age builds on its successful Crude by Rail conferences with a revised and expanded format: ENERGY BY RAIL. We ll examine the issues and trends surrounding the many types of energy and ancillary products that move in railcars crude oil, ethanol, LPG, LNG, frac sand, and coal, among others. Liquid energy, a newer source of railroad traffic as well as a driver of new freight car construction for carbuilders and component suppliers, is tightly regulated and a source of public concern over safety. Coal, a generations-old source of major railroad revenue, has become challenging in recent years. What does the future hold? How will the industry adapt and adjust to shifting market dynamics and regulatory requirements? Key topics Traffic trends: crude by rail, ethanol, coal, compressed natural gas Powder River Basin coal: 20 years and gone?
