2 ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS Why Advertise on METRO? FACT METRO RTA Bus Ads Reach a Wide Audience. Who looks at bus ads? You do! And so do thousands of other people, every day. Buses display your message as they travel past all demographic groups over a whole geographic area. Who is looking? Primarily, it s greater Summit County area residents and commuters. Pedestrians, bicyclists, and bus riders are also regularly exposed to your message. Tourists and area visitors are a considerable secondary audience. Summer and fall are excellent times to widen the reach of your message, as the Akron area is flooded with pedestrians and drivers during those peak tourism seasons. Tourists are especially receptive to advertising messages promoting Summit County products, services, and destinations. FACT METRO RTA Buses Go Where People Go. Each day, a METRO bus will spend 18 hours on the road, traveling more than 600 miles throughout Summit County. Almost every bus passes through downtown Akron an average of 23 times daily, and through all major shopping centers in the area. 1

3 ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS FACT METRO RTA Gets You Noticed. Exterior ad space on the sides of buses are offered in three size categories: King, Queen, and Taillight. The back of the bus offers exclusive visibility and longer exposure to an audience of mostly drivers. We appropriately call ads on the back of buses Tails. FACT Bus Ads Repeat Your Message Over and Over. Repetition is a key factor in any successful advertising program. Bus ads build exceptional recall because they re seen by drivers and pedestrians who are actively looking at their surroundings every day. Tremendous Value. We are a people on the go! Add transit advertising to your advertising mix to reach more people more times. Reinforce your message! Extend your advertising dollar! Develop your image! 2

Upon completion of our first advertising campaign on the Summit County METRO buses for Stautzenberger College Brecksville, we were very pleased with the results. Many inquiries about our programs can be traced back to our METRO advertising! We look forward to partnering with METRO in our future advertising campaigns. Donna Palmer Vice President and Director, Stautzenberger College Brecksville Akron-Summit County Public Library has been using METRO RTA exterior transit signage for several years. 11 TESTIMONIES Keep Akron Beautiful uses METRO advertising whenever our budget allows. We use METRO to tell citizens about how they can be part of the Greenprint for Akron, which is perfect because METRO is leading the way with their green practices. Our employees enjoy seeing our advertising all around town, too! Paula Davis President and CEO, Keep Akron Beautiful, Director of Greenprint for Akron Transit advertising for the arts is a big-city tactic. So, it makes sense for the Akron Art Museum to promote our exciting and vibrant exhibitions on METRO buses. METRO continues to work hard for the Akron Art Museum! We are delighted with the results METRO transit advertising has on museum attendance. Visitors to the museum are always asked how they hear about the exhibition and 'bus signs' is a frequent response. METRO transit advertising also has a very positive effect on museum staff morale. Comments like 'There goes one of our buses!' or, 'I see your buses all over town' makes us really proud! Elizabeth M. Wilson Director of Marketing Communication, Akron Art Museum 10
