1 Greater New Orleans Senior Olympics Sponsor Proposal 2015 Games

2 Opportunity Description (GNOSO) will work together with local sponsors to identify funding opportunities to support the GNO District Senior Olympic Games. We intend to allocate support from sponsors to fund such activities as advertising, promotions, game supplies, equipment, educational and social activities. Your partnership will allow us to offset costs, expand recruitment of seniors and increase the quantity and quality of senior programs. Greater New Orleans is recognized as the largest district in the Louisiana Senior Olympic Games. We had approximately 850 senior athletes competed over the six week Olympic Games in Spring 2014, and our goal is to increase participation to Our mission is to provide quality venues where seniors over the age of 50 can participate in a variety of active and social events that promote wellness and an active lifestyle. A GNO Senior Olympic sponsor could gain: Exclusivity Media exposure Signage opportunities Image enhancement or reinforcement Community recognition Newsletter access Interaction with the Senior Olympians Team building opportunities for employees Main Goals The driving force behind our project is the need for current and future participants over the age of 50 to : Improve overall quality of life Increase physical activity levels through preparation and competition Improve health habits through education and instruction Increase social interaction Spread the senior games movement to smaller parishes

3 Vision of Sponsorship Program Opportunity 1. After reviewing our proposal, interested parties have the option of contributing monetarily or through in-kind sponsorship. 2. The sponsor independently puts a value on our proposal that corresponds to the sponsorship levels we offer (See Sponsor Package Options page 6). 3. Each level guarantees certain sponsor privileges or benefits in exchange for sponsoring a sport of your choice. The majority of sports occur in one day (i.e. Track & Field, Swimming, Basketball) while others extend over two days to accommodate singles and doubles events (i.e. Bowling, Volleyball, Shuffleboard). We encourage sponsor representatives to be present at the event they are sponsoring. Supplying employees as volunteers serves as a team-building opportunity, but it is not required. 4. Once the program director receives notification of your intention to contribute to our program, we will complete any necessary paperwork or make any presentations at your request. 5. Sponsorship agreements/contracts will be sent stating the level of sponsorship, after which, we will anticipate a check or invoice of services for in-kind sponsors when applicable. 6. Sponsors will be sent copies of any program publicity or publication, with their logo on it, to justify the expense..

4 Support of Sponsorship Plan Vitality for older adults in America involves having friends, improving health, being active in the community and learning through new experiences. Regular exercise contributes to a more healthy and independent lifestyle for older adults. Since 1990, the Greater New Orleans District Senior Olympics have been committed to increasing physical activity levels, improving health habits, and decreasing social isolation through the senior games movement. Our program allows diversely skilled people over 50 years to have a choice among two-dozen sport and recreation events in which to participate. Millions of older adults suffer from chronic illnesses that can be prevented or improved through regular physical activity. As the older adult population grows in number, this will place increasing demands on public health systems and on medical and social services. In terms of lower health care costs, our society may be able to reap larger benefits by improving physical activity levels in older adults. Seniors are important contributors to the community as caregivers, employees, volunteers, and leaders. Therefore, it is important that they are healthy and active. This partnership is valuable to sponsors because it allows opportunities to: Give back to your local communities Involve your employees with older adults Promote the health and wellness benefits of physical activity Help us address new issues older adults face in society due to less physical activity and more social isolation
