During that time, the region has become one of the major resort and tourist areas in the Northeast. The Deerfield Valley News has a long-standing commitment to serving the diverse communities which make up our area. Our Market Area - Western Windham County including the towns of Wardsboro, West Wardsboro, Stratton, Jamaica, Dover, Wilmington, Marlboro, Jacksonville, Whitingham, Readsboro, Halifax, Searsburg, and the West River Valley. Due to our location in a resort destination area, seasonal population figures for our coverage area often swells to well over 20,000. Vermont Route 9 is the major east/west highway across southern Vermont. The communities of Bennington and Brattleboro are just 20 miles in either direction. Route 100 is the major northsouth highway and is the connecting artery between the towns in our area. Preprinted inserts should be ordered one week prior. CANCELLATION Cancellation of advertisements is not allowed except in cases of extreme emergency. A composition charge of $25 per ad will be assessed for advertisements which are set and then cancelled. CONTRACT & COPY REGULATIONS A) National advertising rates and commissions apply only to recognized agencies. B) Prepayment is required until credit has been approved. C) All possible care is given to handling of key numbers and prices but Vermont Media Publishing Co., LTD. assumes no responsibility for errors. D) Publisher will attempt to honor requests for placement but no guarantee is given. E) Publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement deemed objectionable or misleading. GENERAL RATE POLICY A) Thirty days notice given for any rate revision B) Advertising must start within 30 days from date of order C) Display advertising set to resemble editorial matter must be marked ADVERTISEMENT above each column. D) In the event of any federal, state or local taxes imposed on the printing of advertisement material or the sale of advertising space, such taxes will be assumed by the advertiser. E) Vermont Media Publishing Co., LTD. does not accept special clauses on insertion or space reservation orders relating to legal liability and does not accept clauses relating to circulation guarantees. When orders are forwarded by an agency which contain incorrect rates or conditions, the advertising called for will be inserted and charged according to the rates in force governing such advertising and in accordance with the conditions contained herein. F) Excessive production may result in additional charges for typesetting, halftones or design work. G) All advertisers must address questions concerning advertising charges within 10 days of billing.

Special Section or other service Name Date Rate It is understood that such advertising discounts as described above will be granted by The Deerfield Valley News as long as the following conditions are met: The advertiser runs the amount of advertising as ordered. If billing is approved, the bill must be current (within 30 days) unless prior arrangement is approved. Pre-payment is required until credit is approved. Questions concerning errors, mistakes, or omissions must be addressed within 5 days of the first publication. Question concerning statements must be addressed within 10 days of billing. Failure to meet the agreed upon terms will result in billing at next highest applicable rate, or open rate. Delinquent accounts will accrue a service charge of 1.5% monthly, may have their discount revoked, and may be turned over to an attorney or service for collection proceedings.
