3 BACKGROUND WCA Group is a large HVAC and plumbing company that services homeowners in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Louisville. Back in 2009, the company was a smaller, well-known local HVAC company servicing central Indiana. Their marketing director, Suzi, reached out to Fat Atom in the middle of 2009 for website and digital marketing help. Together we were getting awesome results, helping them grow to $30+ million in revenue. In 2014, WCA Group was bought out by a larger company, who took all of their marketing in-house. In 2015, the original owners of WCA Group bought their business back and added locations outside of Indiana. WCA Group put out an RFP for marketing services and Fat Atom responded. Our proposal was priced higher than our competitors, and WCA Group decided to go with another local agency that would charge less than what Fat Atom had proposed. THE CHALLENGE(S) Suzi s new agency was tasked with managing WCA Group s online advertising and SEO efforts throughout all of However, that didn t go so well. Toward the end of 2015, with her campaigns not getting the results she expected, Suzi grew concerned. Her new marketing partner wasn t doing things like updating and testing landing pages, and the SEO portion of their contract wasn t being fulfilled. MILLION DOLLAR SALES FUNNEL 3

4 HOW WE HELPED In the fall of 2015, Suzi came to us with her concerns. She hired Fat Atom to conduct a marketing audit to analyze everything that WCA Group was doing digitally including their SEO efforts. Suzi wanted Fat Atom to tell her what we would do differently so that she could give our report to her marketing partner and have them execute it. After seeing our audit, Joe Huck, an owner of WCA Group, decided they wanted to work with us going forward. So, in December 2015, WCA Group became our client again. The other agency owned all of WCA Group s third party advertising accounts though, blocking WCA Group from receiving any of their campaigns or data. This meant that WCA Group paid for a year s worth of work, but got no information on their campaigns and had to start from scratch. 5 THE RESULTS Within the first year of taking over their online advertising campaigns, Fat Atom spent 14% less in third-party advertising fees while getting the following results: 38% // increase in clicks 57% // increase in leads 69% // decrease in cost per lead To sum up the first year of our engagement, we were spending less money while getting them more clicks, more leads, and having them pay significantly less for each lead they received from our efforts. 6 THE RESULTS (CONT.) Our goal is to go up and to the right, and we want to show consistent improvements over a long period of time. In 2017 and 2018 we did even better, getting the following results compared to our first year of working with WCA Group: we increased their leads by 30% while decreasing their spend by 10%, which lowered their cost per lead by 45%. And we didn t stop there. We introduced WCA Group to new tactics, such as: direct mail remarketing, display / social remarketing, Facebook advertising, Google Local Services Ads, Yelp advertising, and many others. These tactics have created an additional source of leads that WCA Group previously missed out on. For example, Google Local Services ads alone have brought in over 370 leads in a six month timeframe while Yelp has brought back a 11,300% ROI. MILLION DOLLAR SALES FUNNEL 6

7 BOTTOM LINE...As in our own business at WCA Group, we are not perfect. We make mistakes, but we own them and make them right period. I think that the same can be said of the Fat Atom team. Whenever we have had a misstep, which rarely happens, they have always owned it by bringing it to my attention and then offering options to make it right.
