3 Invitation to Participate Message from the President On behalf of the Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan, I would like to announce that APDW 2015 will be held at TaipeiInternationalConvention Center in Taipei, Taiwan from December 3th to 6th, APDW 2015 in Taiwan is organized by The Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan, The Digestive Endoscopy Society of Taiwan, Taiwan Surgical Society of Gastroenterology, and Taiwan Association for the Study of the Liver. These societies have common interests in basic research and clinical practice in the field of digestive diseases. We had experience in hold APDW 2009, which had over two thousand participants attending the important annual meeting. We are preparing program with more diversity for all of you. Experts from Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and North American will give us cutting-edge knowledge about research and clinical practice in hepatology and gastroenterology. Friends from whole world will share the exciting and unique experience of digestive diseases with global dimension. We can also witness Asian Pacific experience in the field of viral hepatitis, Helicobacter pylori studies, GERD, biliopancreatic diseases, screening program of gastrointestinal malignancy, as well as surgical treatment of digestive diseases. During such grand assembly, your contribution will be extremely meaningful and fruitful. 4 About APDW 2015 About APDWF The Asian Pacific Digestive Week Federation (APDWF) is a registered organisation set up to organise an annual scientific meeting common interest in diseases of the digestive system, including the oesophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, intestine and bowel in Asia Pacific countries. The Federation comprises of four professional medical non-profit organisation, namely, the Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE), the Asian Pacific Society of Digestive Endoscopy (APSDE), the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL), and the International Society for Digestive Surgery-Asian Pacific Section (ISDS) in collaboration with the member societies. 3

24 Grants and Subsidies Educational Grants US$ 2,000, per delegate This educational grant is to support outstanding young professionals based on scientific merit in the oral/poster presentation or delegates determined by the donors to attend the congress. The 2,000 shall cover registration fees, up to 4 nights accommodation and partial or full traveling expenses. All major sponsorships will be acknowledged in the Program Handbook. 2. The number of representatives of sponsors at the congress venue will be limited depending upon the extent and area of sponsorship at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. 3. All the sponsors should register names of their representatives with the Organizing Committee one month before the start of congress and all such persons will be required to wear the ID badges provided. 4. Stalls will be allocated on first come, first served basis with priority given to the premier sponsors. 5. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to rearrange the floor plan or any part thereof at any time. An official receipt towards provisional booking amount shall be issued within three weeks of receipt of payment. 6. The site of the stall shall be made available to the participants on the afternoon before the exhibition begins. If the sponsor fails to occupy the stall by 12 noon on the first day of the congress, the Exhibition Committee reserves the right to allot the vacant stalls to the waiting applicants. 7. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the venue and date of exhibition in case of unavoidable circumstances. 8. Force Majeure 1. Neither party shall be liable to the other for any loss or damage occasioned by or arising out of Act of God (such as epidemics, floods, volcanic eruption, earthquakes or other convulsions of nature and other acts) and other unprecedented events such as general strike, invasions, hostilities, war, rioting or similar situations which prevent performance of the contract and which could not have been foreseen or avoided by a prudent person/actions. 2.
