2 Buckhorn Family, The faculty, staff, and administration at Buckhorn High School work hard to provide our students with an enjoyable high school experience. That includes offering quality co-curricular programs. You may not be aware, but the school receives no funding from the Madison County Board of Education for co-curricular programs other than a few modest supplements and a small travel allowance. The school and booster clubs are responsible for generating the funds necessary to sustain the programs offered. Our Football program would be one of these programs. Some of the major expenses incurred to operate a football program include equipment purchases and refurbishment, field maintenance, utility costs, team meals, travel expenses, game officials, and the list goes on. This season we are asking each student-athlete to be accountable $650. This amount will be accumulated through multiple fundraising opportunities. A list of opportunities is included in this packet as well as on our website. Each player will start with a zero balance that will be kept through a master spreadsheet kept by our Treasurer. The amount that he raises will go towards his balance until he reaches his accountability amount. You will be notified periodically on your progress. There will be incentives for the student-athlete for raising the needed amount. A list of these incentives are also included in this packet and on our website. The Media Guide has always been a great asset for our players, families and fans. Last year s Gameday Program was also a big success. Let s continue to make this seasons a success. There will be everything from rummage items to special order items and almost everything in between. Concessions will be available. Due to the wide variety of items available at the Super Saturday Market, booths should begin set up by 6:30 and to be ready to open to the public by 7:00. Artists, boutiques, crafters, vendors, small business owners & consultants, can set their booths up at this time also, if they don t want to miss the early bird rummage buyers. If you decide to pass on the early bird option, please be set up and ready to sell by 10:00 am. We ask that all booth participants move their vehicles to the back parking lot by 9:40 am; this will ensure the booths are highly visible from the road. Only one vendor per company is needed. So this will be on a first come first serve basis. Sharing of booths between vendors is not allowed, each vendor must pay the minimum of $20.00 rental space fee. Each applicant is responsible for setting up and taking down their booth. Tables will NOT be provided. We encourage all participants to be creative in decorating their spaces. This is an outdoor event held again at Winchester Road Baptist Church, 1262 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL. The Early Bird rummage begins at 7:00, the Market & Old Fashion Fair at 10:00.
