I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. My parents sacrificed everything to make a better life for me and my sister in the USA. They enrolled me at FFCDC where I learned English with my teacher Ms. Margaret, who taught me to love learning. Thanks to my early childhood education, I was deemed gifted by my teachers in the first grade! When I came back to FFCDC for After-School, I went on wonderful field trips, received tutoring when I needed it, and found my passion for basketball. Then I found my dream to become a pediatric doctor. I pursued this dream relentlessly, even after I suffered a major car crash that could have put my life on hold. I took rigorous AP courses and graduated in the top 2% of my class! Then my dream came within reach when I won the $250,000 Annenberg Scholarship to study pediatric surgery at the University of Pennsylvania! Now, my future is in my hands, all because of the people who cared about me and believed in me. I am a Florence Fuller kid! Did You Know?
