A Science shows that this particular B vitamin is difficult to deliver because of blocked receptor sites. Shaklee came up with the idea of coating the tablet (Vita Lea & B-Complex) with folic acid which triggers early release & much better delivery. Shaklee was awarded a patent for this. Why is Vit E (tocopherols) added to Shaklee's OmegaGuard (their fish oil product)? ANSWER: To prevent rancidity

Q When does biological aging begin occurring in human tissue cells? A Birth The LANDMARK STUDY was conducted at which university? UC Berkeley Harvard Cornell ANSWER: UC Berkeley (this is a published study on the efficacy of Shaklee supplements - no one else in the supplement industry has this) T or F - The glycemic index measures whether or not a carbohydrate is simple or complex. ANSWER - False - Glycemic Index assigns a value to food based on how far & how fast blood sugar rises after it s eaten. High glycemic creates a spike in blood sugar followed by hunger & fatigue. Low glycemic food keeps body supplied with steady energy. Mitochondrial genetics come from the mother, never the father. What is one of the more important roles of mitochondria? ANSWER Energy. Shaklee s Vivix has been clinically proven to increase mitochondrial mass. Aspirin consumption will hemorrhage the stomach why is that? ANSWER Because it blocks the enzyme (COX-1) that regulates cell function in the stomach. Shaklee s Pain Relief Complex doesn t block COX-1 but does block the other 2 enzymes that manage pain, which is what you want. Cancer is not a foreign thing entering the body it s a breakdown of communication of our cells. In other words cell degradation. What is by far the best protection against cancer?

Answer: A strong immune system. Also lifestyle as it relates to the immune system is particularly important. Shaklee s Nutriferon can t be overstated in helping to keep the immune system healthy What does HDL (good cholesterol) do? Answer: Cleans up LDL (bad cholesterol) deposits in other words high HDL offsets high LDL which is why their ratio is significant Q What is unique about Shaklee s coating on their supplements? A Shaklee uses a unique explosion process to coat their tablets (no one else has this). It is more enduring and doesn t crack like the more common shellac coating does. Even a hairline crack in the shellac coating will accelerate degradation What was one of the first official Earth Day products (and still is today)? Shaklee s Basic H Q What antioxidant is referenced over 2,340 times in separate research journals? A Resveratrol (Shaklee's Vivix is 13x more powerful than resveratrol alone) What herb has been called "The Great Healer" and "The Father of all Foods"? ANSWER - Alfalfa (alfalfa has a very deep root system, thus hi nutrients) The USDA states that while the average fruit or vegetable is 1 to 10 units alkaline, alfalfa is 130 units alkaline. This alkaline nature makes the use of anti-acid tablets for digestion unnecessary. Q Which nutrient/vitamin is involved in over 2000 human genes showing a receptor site specifically for it? A Vit D it is a modulator in 10% of almost all genes in our body. Until recently its importance has been grossly undervalued. (FYI as a comparison zinc is involved in about 80 body processes vs 2000 for Vit D)

Q - Where does the fat that we lose go? A Until recently it was thought to have been converted into energy & heat but is now believed to be breathed out in the form of carbon dioxide. What has been shown to be effective in reducing triglycerides? Answer: Omega 3 fish oils. Shaklee s fish oil product (called OmegeGuard) is ultrapure through triple distillation, full spectrum (EPA & DHA + 5 other naturally occurring fish oils), and has added Vitamin E tocopherols to prevent against rancidity. The eye is an extension of what organ? ANSWER: The brain - 1/3 of cranial nerves go to sight/vision Inflammation is a great source of pain, inhibits sleep, & is linked to almost all major diseases including heart disease and cancer. CRP (C-reactive protein) is an important biomarker for inflammation. In the Landmark Study, how many Shaklee users had elevated CRP? ANSWER: ZERO Healthy cells are full of light cancer cells are dark. You can flood your body with light by taking in fresh organic foods also chlorophyll is great for adding light. What Shaklee product is rich in chlorophyll? ANSWER: Alfalfa What does GRAS mean? ANSWER: "generally recognized as safe" which means a chemical doesn't have to be put on the label - there are thousands that fall into this category. Do probiotics need to be refrigerated?

ANSWER: While it was common 20 yrs ago, today the new technology allows for the product to be in (a non-refrigerated) environment. Shaklee was one of the 1st to adopt this technology with their Optiflora product and were awarded a patent for this cutting edge delivery. Many who take supplements want to just take ONE of something that would be the ideal. Let s use OsteoMatrix (Shaklee s calcium) as example. The label says to take 4 for single dose (1000 mg) why 4 instead of one large one? ANSWER: For absorption the supplement must break down & get into the bloodstream. Large tablets are hard to absorb - particularly calcium. This is an example of Shaklee following the science, not the marketing. The FDA conducted a study on over 300 vitamins & shakes marketed specifically to women & children to determine the amount of lead (if any). The results didn t fare well with the worst offenders being pre-natal vitamins! Much of the contamination comes during the manufacturing where raw products come into contact with metal rollers & crushers. What extra step does Shaklee take in order to insure no lead contamination? ANSWER they use CERAMIC rollers & crushers which are many times the cost of the metal ones but which help to insure the purity & safety of their products Many seek digestive relieve with Nexium, Prevacid and Prilosec but chronic use of these drugs has been shown to double your risk for hip fracture (they block calcium absorption). They also double the risk of colds, flu & other infections such as pneumonia (because normal levels of stomach acid kill bacteria and viruses). What is a Shaklee alternative to these drugs? ANSWER: There are 3 products that work wonderfully to bring digestive relief 1) Alfalfa 2) EZ Gest enzymes 3) Stomach Soothing Complex Why is it that Shaklee offers very little in the way of LIQUID vitamins? ANSWER: Because liquid supplements have a poor shelf life and are susceptible to rancidity-particularly fat soluble vitamins.

FYI Dr. Shaklee was asked why he didn't put the Vita C or Calcium into our LiquiLea supplement. He said that by the time the customer opened the bottle, it would probably be disseminated, gone, nothing there. Why doesn't Shaklee use Policosanol to lower cholesterol? Answer: Policosanol is shown to lower cholesterol in weeks 1 thru 8. However in weeks 9 thru 12, cholesterol increases because body starts producing to compensate. Visible light can cause a 3x increase in skin damage. Sun/UV light can cause a 6x increase in skin damage. What does Shaklee offer that has been shown to not only block but REVERSE this damage? Answer: Vital Repair (in Shaklee s skin care line called Enfuselle). Enfuselle holds 7 patents and has been clinically shown to reverse skin damage. Up until the time this product was introduced, it was believed that damage reversal was not possible.
