2 SAVING LEO Leo, a one year old Tabby cat with a fabulous personality, was adopted by this beautiful family one year ago from a shelter. Severe blockages would continue to compromise his health, and this family knew they could not afford the required surgery that would save him, as the family's income had recently been sliced in half to manage daycare for their three children Though heartbroken, the family agreed to surrender their boy if that would be the only way Leo could survive. It was more important than anything that Leo not suffer. Max's, in collaboration with other local nonprofits and veterinary partners, was able to pay for Leo's surgery so Leo could return home with his family. While they had to consider euthanasia, that just was not an option for this family.they were notified that a rescue may be willing to pay for the surgery; however for that to happen, they would have to surrender Leo. The day we got to make the call to Leo's family... to let them know the good news...was one of the best days we have ever had. Max's Helping Paws has helped more than 100 loved pets like LEO. And the funds we raise from this event will allow us to help more.

3 2018 was the first year of Max's Helping Paws fundraising gala, Max's Paws for a Cause, and it was incredible. The inaugural sold out event raised nearly $80,000! Please join Max's Helping Paws and 250 animal-loving supporters for our premier fundraising event on Friday, May 3, 2019 at one of Monterey County's most exclusive event venues - The Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. This event is essential for Max's, and will enable us to continue to provide a financial lifeline for pet owners with a pet in need. Casablanca on the Coast will feature a gourmet feast, phenomenal wines, a casino, fabulous live music, dancing, as well as silent & live auctions.
