2 About Founded in 1980, STAR Transit s mission is to provide affordable and convenient transportation to the general public and persons with disabilities for access to goods and services, with a high quality, well trained, attractive, convenient and efficient staff, operators and fleet. We provide quality public transportation throughout Kaufman County, Rockwall County, Seagoville, Balch Springs and Mesquite. STAR Transit is the provider of Medicaid transportation in Ellis and Navarro County. STAR Transit is a political sub-division of the state of Texas and provides over 195,000 rides per year with a fleet of 65 buses. All of our buses are ADA compliant and can accommodate mobility aids. Our buses operate Monday Friday, 6:00 am 6:00 pm in most areas. We operate approximately 250 days out of the year. Rides are a minimum of 15 minutes. 2
3 Service Types Public Transportation - On-Demand (37 Buses) Customers are picked up at the curb of the ride origin and transported to the curb of their destination. Riders can go anywhere in our service area. (i.e., jobs, shopping, doctor appointments, Senior Centers, college, run errands, etc.) Rides outside of our service area are reserved for non-emergency medical trips. On average this service provides over 14,000 rides a month. That s over 166,000 rides a year. This service covers Kaufman County, Rockwall County, Seagoville, Balch Springs and Mesquite. Medicaid Transportation - On-Demand (5 Buses) We operate this service in Navarro County and Ellis County. Customers are picked up at the curb of the ride origin and transported to the curb of their medical appointment. On average this service provides over 1,240 rides a month. That s over 14,880 rides a year. Kaufman Trolley Fixed Route (1 AM Bus, 1 PM Bus) The STAR Transit Trolley is a fixed route in Kaufman that operates Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm and arrives at each stop every 1 hour 30 minutes. This service provides over 5,800 trips a year and travels in the busiest part of Kaufman. COMPASS - DART Express Bus Route 282 (2 Buses) This Park & Ride is operated in conjunction with DART and goes from Mesquite s Hanby Stadium to DART s Lawnview Station on the Green Line. The schedule includes morning and afternoon peak period trips running every 30 minutes supplemented by hourly midday service, Monday Friday. This service provides over 30,000 trips a year. Balch Springs Midtown Express (1 Bus) This commuter demand response route operates Monday Friday and has a split schedule (5:00 am 10:00 am, 2:00 pm 7:00 pm). There are nine designated stops along this fixed route with flex service to the DART Buckner Station based on request. This service launched June 15, 2015 and currently provides an average of 521 trips a month. Seagoville Express (1 Bus) This commuter demand response route operates Monday Friday, 5:30 am to 8:29 am, 10:45 am to 12:30 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:40 pm. There are 11 designated stops along this fixed route with flex service to the DART Buckner Station based on request. This service launched August 1,
4 Service Areas STAR Transit buses travel at least 1,099,298 miles a year and can be seen on the busiest roads in the Metroplex. Destinations include shopping centers, medical complexes, senior centers, colleges/universities, major employers, etc. Because we are public transportation, the ridership demographic mirrors the municipalities where the buses operate. 4

6 Information & Details Rates & Discounts Rates in this advertising kit are per bus / per month/ per ad type and reflect quantity and longevity discounts applied. STAR Transit may be willing to offer greater discounts with longer contract lengths and purchases higher in quantity. Non-profit organizations receive 25% off published rates. Bus Sizes Buses used for advertising vary in size and model. It is imperative that advertising clients and production vendors double-check advertising sizes. Advertisement Installation & Removal STAR Transit will be responsible for the installation of selected signage. Advertisers will be responsible for paying for installation and removal of vinyl advertising from vehicles. Costs will be determined by STAR Transit staff or its assigned contractor, which will arrange for the installation and removal of advertising. It is the advertiser s responsibility to reclaim materials in a timely fashion or they may be disposed of at STAR Transit s discretion. STAR Transit Advertising Policy STAR Transit must pre-approve ALL advertising prior to production. STAR Transit does not accept any advertising for alcohol, tobacco, political, social or religious messages or campaigns, or advertising designed to debate or advocate positions on unsettled issues of public concern. STAR Transit will install these signs at no charge.
