2 digital & rich media ad options Standard digital advertising options Digital ads are comprised of industry-standard file types (.gif,.jpg,.png). These ad units are available across all SMI Network of sites unless other wise specified in individual ad unit notes. Rich Media digital advertising options Rich media ads normally have interaction that involves more than one click, and contain multiple complex parts such as video, interactivity and animation. They may be part of a larger campaign, like the wallpaper in the takeover package. SMIproduced rich media requires CPM premium, to account for design, setup and hosting. All rich media should be HTML5- ready. Client-produced rich media should be hosted on a third party vendor at the clients discretion and expense DIGITAL AD KIT

6 mobile ad options These ads are targeted to mobile devices using our responsive websites. They can be saved as.jpg,.png or.gif. Flash ads are not allowed, as flash is not supported on mobile devices or modern browsers. Mobile Website/iPhone iapp Mobile - Interstitial 320px x 50px 40k size.gif animation only 320px x 480px 200k, no animation, no flash. Optional: Photo gallery and video 2016 DIGITAL AD KIT

7 General Guidelines Animation SMI restricts all animation, even subtle movement, to a limit of 15 seconds. Audio - Audio must be user-initiated. Borders - Ads must clearly be differentiated from page content through either a defined linear or graphical border, a solid contrasting background color or a combination of border and contrasting background. A 1px border in #CCCCCC or # is preferred. File Size Issues - If your client is having issues reaching these limits, we recommend you have them send us their working files so we can save their ads at the correct requirements while keeping content as crisp as possible. We can provide a proof once this is done. File Types - SMI accepts the following file types for advertising:.fla,.swf,.jpg,.gif and spot ad tags. Flash Advertising - Flash is discouraged, as mobile browsers and ofther browsers, like Chrome doesn t support it. Flash ads if used, must be sent as 3 rd party ad tags. Pop-Up Window Advertising - Pop-up window advertising is not permitted. The browser back button must work from the landing page. Third Party Name and Logo Usage - Use of a third party s trademarked name, slogan or logo is prohibited without written permission from said third party (For instance, using a pro or college sports team s name or logo to promote the client s business). Video - Preferred formats, resolution and file prep information are in the client/ agency kit.
