3 ANNUAL BAR CONFERENCE Venue Introduction The Annual Bar Conference 2014 provides an essential opportunity to learn and discuss key issues affecting careers, opportunities and life at the Bar. Over the past 28 years, the Annual Conference has been the main event which brings together all members of the Bar community for a full day of debate, discussion and networking. Previous conferences have considered whether and how the Bar needs to change in order to respond to the rapidly evolving legal landscape. This year, however, we would like to focus on all that is positive about today s Bar, including: high standards of advocacy and legal knowledge; integrity; independence; and, service to the client. The theme of Celebrating Excellence will underpin the day s programme. Sessions will be informative and positive, celebrating the unique skills held by those involved with the Bar. The day will examine routes to ensure the expertise of the profession can continue to flourish. 5 WHY SPONSOR THE BAR CONFERENCE? The Bar Council proudly promotes the interests of the Bar community and provides a wide range of services to all members of the Bar. The Bar Conference is the key opportunity for these services to be showcased to all those involved with the Bar. The Annual Bar Conference provides sponsors and exhibitors with access to the largest audience from the Bar community, who are looking to explore and understand the latest developments in products and services available to them. Use this platform to engage and network with all involved in the profession. Events The Bar Conference will be promoted using literature containing messages from sponosrs at our regular events and conferences, including the annual Young Bar Conference. 6 Exhibition opportunities The Bar Council will be hosting an exhibition at the 2014 Annual Bar Conference. This allows organisations to promote what they do and who they are. With all catering being served in the exhibition room, it provides maximum exposure to all delegates throughout the day. There are two different sizes of exhibition stand with varying prices. Insert opportunities The Bar Council will be handing out delegate bags to each attendee and is providing the opportunity to all organisations to insert information into these delegate bags. An insert can act as a more financially viable method to disseminate information for those who are unable to purchase a stand. What s included 400 for insertion of 1 item Maximum size is 8 double pages, no more than A4 in size, and Need to provide 600 copies of the insert at least two weeks prior to the Conference. Delegate pad and pen sponsor Commercially Rewarding Attendance at the conference presents a rewarding chance to network with a cross-section of the Bar and legal community. Attendees include judges, QCs, barristers, academics, solicitors, senior practice managers and clerks at all levels in their respective careers. Brand Recognition The Bar Conference is extensively marketed to around 24,000 individuals, domestically and internationally. Sponsors enjoy maximum brand exposure over the course of 2014 in the lead up to the event. Key Decision Makers The Conference attracts over 600 delegates from the legal community providing your organisation with an unrivalled opportunity to engage in face-to-face discussions with the key decision makers. The Bar Council will be handing out delegate bags to each attendee and is providing the opportunity for one organisation to include branded pads and pens in these delegate bags. The sponsor will be required to provide 600 branded pads and pens and will also receive a complimentary insert to provide key organisational messages. 7 NEW PACKAGES FOR 2014 Event Pad sponsor Each year the Bar Council strive to ensure that the Annual Bar Conference provides an essential opportunity to learn and discuss key issues affecting the careers, opportunities and life at the Bar. As well as offering a day full of learning, the Annual Bar Conference also offers an unrivalled networking opportunity for all who are involved with the Bar. For these reasons, in 2014 we would like to introduce the use of an Event Pad service for all delegates. Using this service, each delegate will be provided with a tablet in all sessions which offers a completely interactive solution both for delegates and session leaders. By sponsoring this package, it not only allows the sponsors branding to be at the forefront of every session throughout the day but also the potential to gain valuable delegate contact information and online networking opportunities. This opportunity will allow one sponsor to brand the water bottles with their logo, key message which provides a key opportunity for brand awareness using a tool that will reach all delegates. Completion of a registration form does not guarantee the sponsorship or exhibition place these are distributed on a first come first served basis. Once the booking has been confirmed, a contract will be sent out to the party involved stating all terms and conditions. This is to be signed by both the Bar Council and the organisation involved and payment is to be made promptly. Once a sponsorship or exhibition booking has been made and the contract has been signed, the Bar Council will not offer refunds for any cancellations.
