2 COLOMBO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2 We gave you a taste of a different Sri Lankan music scene in Chapter 1 and kept our promise. We now bring you the next chapter of Colombo music festival. Musical legends Bathiya & Santhush will take the stage backed up by Umaria, Randhir and DJ Naleen. The exclusive venue of the Music Room will come alive on 14 September

3 COLOMBO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2 Colombo Festival hosts Bathiya and Santhush Musical extravaganza in Dubai Colombo Festival proudly presents Sri Lankas mega hip hop music icons Bathiya and Santhush accompanied by the popular stars Umaria and Randhir, on the 14th September 2017 at the Majestic City Hotel Bur Dubai from 8pm onwards. The first Sri Lankan artists to secure a Music Publishing Contract under Universal Music Publishing and sign a recording contract with Sony BMG in 2002, having performed at the opening act of the IIFA Awards 2010 and the theme songs for ICC Cricket T20 World Cup in 2012 and in Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2013, BnS also became the only Sri Lankan hip hop duo to feature Indian singers, namely Hariharan (in the song Yaalpanamen) and Asha Bhosle (Dedunna Sedi). They also composed the song Achale sung by Indian Pop Idol Sonu Nigam for the Japanese Anime Movie The Mystical Laws in Bathiyas maternal grandmother Somi Singhika Basnayake was in the college choir and his mother a classically trained pianist and a piano tutor which resulted in Bathiya starting classical piano music from the age of seven and continue to excel in music throughout his school career while Santhush shares his talents with his brother Dushyanth Weeraman who is also a musician of repute. They both met while at the Mary Anne David School of Vocal Music in Colombo Sri Lanka while training under the categories of classical and show tunes. Having successfully hosted Chitral Somapala and Jayasri Twins also featuring Duween (Sikuruliya) on the 4th of May at the same venue Colombo Festival promises yet another show stopping musical experience with BnS to keep the audience entertained with lasting memories. 3
