2 A SPECTRUM OF CONTEMPORARY FINE ART DURING MIAMI ART WEEK Spectrum Miami, a juried, contemporary art show featuring independent studio artists, up-and-coming galleries, and art publishers from around the world, has become an integral part of Miami Art Week. This renowned yearly event that takes place in the first week of December attracts art aficionados, collectors, and industry buyers by the tens of thousands. It s just non-stop traffic from start to finish, said West Palm Beach art dealer Ryan Ross in an interview with CBS Miami last December, [There s] a real positive thing going on and lots of money being spent in the fine art sector right now. Indeed, Spectrum Miami is right in the middle of it all. Last year, we moved the show to Miami s newest hotspot, the Arts and Entertainment District, putting us in close proximity to powerhouse shows such as Art Basel, Art Miami, Scope, and Miami Project. The Arts and Entertainment District is a cultural oasis connecting the Wynwood Arts District and Design District to Downtown Miami, and is conveniently located near area hotels, restaurants, and local attractions. As a highlight of Miami Art Week, Spectrum Miami draws huge crowds each year, providing dealers with access to thousands of innovative works and bringing top talent to Miami s hottest new district. 2015: OUR BIGGEST YEAR YET We expect this year s Spectrum Miami to set record numbers of both exhibitors and attendees. Last year s show blew 2014 s out of the water, garnering 29,000 attendees (a 14 percent increase) and over 160 exhibitors (a 23 percent increase).
