The castings manufactured by foundries are an important part of the U.S. economy and are widely used in most economic segments. Castings are particularly important in automotive, energy/power generation, medical technologies, military/defense, plumbing and fluid handling, industrial, marine, tooling & machinery, housing, construction, and aircraft industries. The Society s mission statement: To provide members and the industry with information and services relevant to their current and future business needs, and to effectively represent the concerns and interests of the non-ferrous metal casting industry. NFFS has an extensive distribution network available to reach the key industry decision makers. Distribution channels include: the Industry Executive Conference and NFFS annual meeting, The Crucible magazine; NFFSNotes membership newsletters; a bi-monthly membership Electronic Newsletter, monthly NFFSummit safety/health webinars; regional training seminars; website and electronic customer portals; and effective direct mail and communication channels. Foundries trust NFFS to provide a quick response and effective answers to their needs. In the most recent Satisfaction Survey (February, 2012), member foundries gave the Society high marks in Understanding Member Issues and Priorities (87.4% rated NFFS Good/Excellent), Responsiveness to Member Needs (86.1% Good/Excellent), and Effectiveness of Society Programs/Services (84.2% Good/Excellent). Among the most important benefits foundries say NFFS offers: Addressing management issues including regulatory and fiscal concerns. Knowing that there are industry professionals that you can call or , and they will help you out with industry specific questions or needs. 2 The following policy applies to all NFFS publications. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact NFFS (847/ ). Upon receipt of an insertion order from an advertiser, NFFS understands that all terms in this policy have been reviewed and accepted by the advertiser. Closing Dates Insertion orders are due no later than the dates set forth below. All other advertising materials including all fonts used and graphic support files must be submitted no later than 30 days from the insertion order deadline. In the event that space is ordered and new materials are not received by the deadline, NFFS reserves the right to run one of the advertiser s previous advertisements of the same size. Advertising Closing Dates January/February issue January 1 March/April issue...march 1 May/June issue...may 1 July/August issue... July 1 September/October issue September 1 November/December issue November 1 Advertising Contracts No ad will be run without a signed insertion order agreeing to every provision of this policy. The signed insertion order must be provided to NFFS, no later than the closing date. (See above) In order to receive frequency discounts, a signed insertion order must be on file with NFFS. All advertisements are non-cancelable after the closing date. Any advertiser that fails to fulfill the contract will be rebilled at the nonfrequency discounted rate. Multiple issue insertion orders may be cancelled by either party with 60 days written notice except cover position ads which require 90 days written notice. File Submissions All advertisements must be submitted as electronic files either by or mailed to NFFS on CD-Rom. NFFS will accept the following file formats: print resolution Adobe Acrobat PDF (preferred), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or QuarkXpress. Any advertisement that does not adhere to NFFS s size specifications or is otherwise unsuitable for print may incur layout charges if changes must be made. If no hard copy proof is submitted, NFFS cannot be held responsible for any errors in the final printed advertisement. NFFS does not provide proof copy. Special Placement Requests for special placement within an issue of The Crucible magazine will be given consideration on a first-come, first-served basis. However, no guarantee is made unless the preferred placement of the ad has been specified in the insertion order. Advertising Review/Legal Limitation Advertising is accepted subject to NFFS s approval and may be rejected at NFFS s discretion. Advertisers and their agents are solely responsible and legally liable for the content of advertisements and any claims or damages arising from them. Advertisers submitting ads to NFFS do so with the understanding that their advertisement contains no defamatory matter or is otherwise unlawful or infringes on any proprietary rights (including trademark or copyright) of another and that the advertiser agrees that NFFS is not responsible for any claim arising from the printing and publishing of the advertisement or for any breach of any provision in this agreement. Payment Advertisers will be billed in advance for all scheduled insertions, with payment receipt required before the insertion will run. The advertiser has final responsibility for all payments. Art Services Please contact NFFS to request layout/artwork services. Additional charges will apply. Agency Commission Agency commission is 15% of gross. All negatives, drawings and photographs furnished by NFFS are to be paid for by the advertiser and are non-commissionable. Agency to be commissioned must be identified on the insertion order. 2
