1 NIBCA Committee: Committee Purpose: Subcommittee Purpose: NIBCA Vision Statement: Committee Chair: North Idaho Building Contractors Association NIBCA 2017 Parade of Homes Marketing Subcommittee Committee Agenda This committee organizes the largest marketing promotion available to builders of North Idaho. The mission is to promote NIBCA builders, their projects, suppliers, and trade people during the 5-day Show that highlights anywhere from 10 to 29 Builder members. This subcommittee will promote the NIBCA Parade of Homes Show and NIBCA to the public in the hope of selling tickets and improving attendance at each home and also to promote the sponsors and builders participating. The NIBCA is dedicated to promoting the building industry for the benefit of community members. The Association will continue to be an industry resource and remain actively involved with area organizations to balance economic, environmental, and legislative issues and to create a better understanding of the value and importance of the building industry to the community. Paper Advertising a. Coeur d Alene Press: The sub-committee feels that the target audience to sell the Parade homes to still reads the newspaper. So, they would like to consider using more marketing dollars to submit small ads in the newspaper to advertise for the Parade in general, not any specific builder. b. The Real Estate Book The committee did not discuss this at this time. 4. Television Advertising The television commercial is fairly old. The sub-committee would like to look into dedicating more funds to television in order to create a new commercial. 5. Radio Advertising Blue Sky Broadcasting offered to include the NIBCA in a $12,000 makeover promotion if the NIBCA spends $1,500 or more in advertising and provides qualifying prizes (Parade tickets). The sub-committee would like to move forward with this proposal. 6. Website Advertising a. Parade Craze: The Parade committee signed a 2-year contract with Parade Craze last year, so the committee will be utilizing them again this year for $1,000. The committee is hoping to sell at least 4 enhanced profiles as well for a little additional income. b. Facebook Stuart s Media Group created a NIBCA Parade Facebook page that they update as the Parade gets closer, but NIBCA could include that link on the NIBCA website. The sub- Page 1 of 2 Page 2 of 6

3 committee discussed utilizing the live videos on Facebook at Parade homes. Nancy would like to help do the live videos of Parade homes and interviews with the builders. c. NIBCA Website The sub-committee would like to look into adding a pop-up message to advertise 2 for 1 tickets from sponsor locations to see how much it would be. They would also like to look into adding something to allow the public to subscribe to a mailing list regarding upcoming events. 7. Other Advertising a. Postcards: The Parade committee discussed this last year, but decided it was too much money for not very much coverage. The mailing program can be targeted to certain age groups and income range. The sub-committee discussed dedicating a certain amount of marketing dollars to postcards with the intent to reach as many people in the target demographic that the budget would allow. The committee feels that, right now, postcards are not a high priority. They would like to continue considering it in future years, but they do not have enough funds to pursue it this year. 8. Open Forum Because the ticket selling system is so different this year, there was a concern that there needs to be enough advertising to make sure the public knows. The sub-committee also wants to make sure that traffic gets driven to the sponsor locations prior to the Show. Larry will begin working to reach out to the different advertising outlets and gather some proposals for the next Parade of Homes meeting. 9. The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 pm. Respectfully submitted by Kiauna Dougall. Page 3 of 6 Page 2 of 2
