Each June The Energy Fair transforms rural Central Wisconsin into THE hot spot for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living education. Dubbed the nation s longest-running energy education event of its kind The Energy Fair brings over 10,000 attendees together to learn the latest and greatest in clean energy technology, make meaningful connections, and network with others in an effort to build a more sustainable future. The Energy Fair features: Over 200 exhibitors - showcasing sustainable living and clean energy products Over 200 workshops - providing beginner to advanced hands-on education Solar Professional Workshops - connecting installers with leading solar equipment manufacturers/distributors Food and Chef Demos - inspiring healthy eating habits and enhanced nutrition Clean Transportation Show - highlighting the latest technology with exhibitors, vehicles, and demos Green Building Demos - displaying sustainable building techniques in action Motivational keynotes, lively entertainment, an action-packed mini solar demo derby, and tasty local food

2 The Energy Fair is a hub of creative and brilliant people collaborating for a healthier, sustainable future. It has featured inspirational speakers including JB Straubel, Tara Houska, Jon Wellinghoff, Bill McKibben, Will Allen, Frances Moore Lappe, Amy Goodman, mi Prins, and many others. MREA puts the practical punch into the movement for a livable planet. It s filled with folks who actually know how to make the future work; we have lots and lots of partners around the world, but none with more know-how, savvy, and drive than the people of MREA. - Bill McKibben, Past Energy Fair Keynote The Energy Fair history and the MREA: Like most good things, the idea of the Midwest Renewble Energy Association (MREA) began in the kitchen. After reading a call to action in Home Power Magazine, a group of friends took to the local farm kitchen and organized what is remembered as The First Annual Energy Fair held at the Amherst fairgrounds in Soon after the MREA was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to promote renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration. Attendee Demographics: Over 10,000 people attend throughout the weekend 73% of attendees are over age 36 3/4 of Energy Fair attendees are homeowners 2/3 of Energy Fair attendees are interested in installing or investing in renewable energy 95% of attendees travel from Wisconsin and surrounding states New 19kW Solar Canopy and EV charging station at The Energy Fair. 3 A Leader in Continuing Education In 2018 over 350 attendees participated in our Solar Professionals workshop series. Workshops are presented by top manufacturers and distributors in the industry, and approved for NABCEP CECs. Mark Snyder from Crown Battery leads a Solar Professional Workshop. The MREA Energy Fair is the largest gathering of knowledge and access to professional educators anywhere in the Midwest. To have so many training options to choose from and the ability to attain NABCEP credits at an event this affordable is almost unheard of in the solar industry today.
