2 XII ANNUAL GALA Toronto Chapter of The Ins tute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will be celebra ng and hos ng its XII Annual Gala on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Universal Event Space by Peter and Pauls in Vaughan. The Annual Gala celebrates and showcases Chapter's achievements. Following the highly successful previous Annual Gala events, we expect this year to be special. This year we will host a larger audience and even more prominent and accomplished guests. With an expected audience of over 350 to 400 guests, the guest list will include leadership of The Ins tute of Chartered Accountants of India, leadership of CPA Canada and CPA Ontario, prominent guests from the Indo-Canadian Business Community, Indian CAs located across Canada; and Toronto Chapter members represen ng a number of leading professional, business, financial and other prominent organiza ons in the GTA. The Gala will include special segments of entertainment, inspira onal speeches and recogni on of outstanding achievers. The Chapter has been making inroads in to various new ini a ves and strategic alliances with professional organiza ons. For the year 2015, the Chapter was recognized as the Best Chapter in its category by its parent body ICAI. An Annual Magazine to commemorate the Annual Gala is published and distributed to the members and guests at the Event and circulated to the key execu ves of the sponsor organiza ons. The Annual Magazine also includes the current members directory. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENTS It is our goal to hold four full day professional development events during the year. The Chapter also organizes professional development events on a regular basis providing learning and networking opportuni es to the par cipants. 10 OUR STORY The Toronto Chapter was incorporated in 2006 with approximately 100 members (Indian Chartered Accountants). Since then, the Toronto Chapter has achieved tremendous increase in membership, sponsorship, ac vi es & events and other networking opportuni es. We are included in the Directory of Immigrant Networks developed by TRIEC and posted on se lement.org. Today we reach over 1000 Indian CA's in GTA. The members of the Toronto Chapter are predominantly professionals posi oned in leading Canadian corpora ons and businesses, represen ng various professional and regulatory bodies, and leaders in their respec ve businesses. The members of the Toronto Chapter are part of the fast growing professionals, within the South Asian Community in the GTA. Our members are integrated within the Canadian mainstream and hold posi ons in federal, provincial or local governments, industry and professional prac ce as well as successful prac oners. Toronto Chapter of ICAI, represents an elite group of interna onally trained Indian Chartered Accountants. The Chapter's primary objec ve is to act as an advocacy group to promote the professional interest of its members, act as a liaison between Indian and Canadian professional bodies, ICAI, CPA Canada and CPA Ontario and act as the networking pla orm for the newly immigrated Indian Chartered Accountants to integrate seamlessly into the Canadian main stream accoun ng profession. ICAI is a statutory body established for the regula on of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India. During its nearly seven decades of existence, ICAI has achieved recogni on as a premier accoun ng body not only in India, but also globally, for its contribu on in the fields of educa on, professional development, maintenance of high accoun ng, audi ng and ethical standards.
