2 A collaborative effort between TPWD Wildlife and Inland Fisheries Divisions to meet the needs of private, non-federal landowners wishing to enact good conservation practices on their lands for the benefit of healthy terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

3 LIP opportunities The LIP Partners Watershed Funding Series funded by the USFWS Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program The LIP Conserving Texas Rivers Funding Series focusing on watershed enhancement in targeted areas and in partnership with the Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership S. 4 LIP Partners Watershed Funding Series This allocation of LIP funding is made possible through a cooperative agreement with the USFWS Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program. All projects approved for funding are thereby subject to the terms and conditions of that Program. All good conservation projects are encouraged to apply.

5 LIP Partners Watershed Details for FY 16 Funding Series benefit the public by providing funding for projects designed to create, restore, enhance and protect habitats for rare and at-risk species, including migratory birds and pollinators, throughout the State of Texas. Additionally, LIP will encourage projects that benefit healthy watersheds, riparian areas, and freshwater resources.

6 LIP Partners Watershed Details for FY 16 2 RFP s for FY 16 : Funding Series FALL: October 9 th 2015 deadline for preproposals SPRING: Anticipated due date for preproposal submission sometime late February

7 LIP Partners Watershed Details for FY 16 Funding Series Priority watersheds: Brazos River Basin (especially above Possum Kingdom reservoir), Colorado River Basin (especially the Llano and Pedernales Rivers) Guadalupe/San Antonio River Basin Rio Grande River Basin (including the lower Pecos and Devil s Rivers)

8 LIP Partners Watershed Details for FY 16 Funding Series Highest priority is given to: Projects located within a priority watershed that can demonstrate DIRECT benefit to state and federal trust species, migratory birds, pollinator species & freshwater mussel species of conservation concern Projects not located within a target watershed but that can demonstrate DIRECT benefit to any of the above mentioned species are highly likely to be selected for funding as well given funds are available.

9 LIP Partners Watershed Details for FY 16 Funding Series Additional selection factors include: Cost-effectiveness Efficiency and sustainability Matching contributions Proximity of the proposed action to USFWS, TPWD, or other privately protected areas, Relevance to emerging fish, wildlife, plant and habitat conservation issues. Long term protection

10 Cost Share LIP Partners Watershed Funding Series Eligible project showing direct benefit to a federal trust species: 75% LIP cost share Total LIP potential contribution cap of up to $40, Eligible project not showing direct benefit to a federal trust species: 50% LIP cost share Total LIP potential contribution cap of up to $25,000.00

11 LIP Conserving Texas Rivers Funding Series This allocation of LIP funding is made possible through a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation as well as partnerships with Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. All projects approved for funding are thereby subject to the terms and conditions of that grant.

12 LIP Conserving Texas Rivers Funding Series While the ultimate goal of this funding is to improve habitat for the state fish, the Guadalupe Bass, this funding will be used to support projects implementing conservation actions on any habitat within the targeted watershed with the understanding that conservation based land stewardship will have a positive impact on the watershed.

13 LIP Conserving Texas Rivers Details for FY 16 Funding Series Targeting property in both the riparian zone and uplands of the: Pedernales River Watershed Blanco River Watershed Project proposals taken on a continuous basis until all funds are spent

14 LIP Conserving Texas Rivers Details for FY 16 Funding Series The goal is to restore riparian zones restore aquatic habitats improve water quality increase water quantity reduce erosion remove non-native species
