4 Farmers Wanted Farmers are wanted for the First Annual Benton Kentucky Farm to Fork Dinner on Saturday, August 26th Farm to Fork is an event designed by the Benton Partnership, with the help of the Marsahll County Extension Office and Marshall County NRCS to create awareness about local food systems while raising money for the Benton Partnership, as well as the local FFA and 4H. The event will consist of a dinner of locally grown foods, donated by the local farmers and eaten right on the street of the Benton Square. As a farmer, what do I get for donating? -2 meal tickets -LOTS of advetising. -Potential for more local business. -The gratitude of helping better Benton while also supporting the FFA and 4H. 5 Women in Agriculture *Ladies Night Out* The hard working women of Marshall County Agriculture deserve a night out. Women across all areas of agriculture are invited to come together, whether in a professional or casual sense, to share experiences with peers who have the same passion for anything agriculture. The night will include a guest speaker, light snacks and an optional barnyard animal paint class brought to you by the professional painting instructors at Barnyard. You don t have to own a chicken to participate. Little to no Ag experience required. All are welcome! 6 Farmers Market Marshall County Farmers Market Informational Meeting When: Tuesday February 21 st at 6:30 p.m. Where: Marshall County Extension Office 1933 Mayfield Highway Benton, KY This meeting will discuss the potential opportunity for a farmers market to be held at the Marshall County Extension Office. The meeting is organized by Dianna Angle, Soil Conservationist with NRCS and Nikki Bell, MC Extension Agriculture Agent. The goals of the meeting include: Confirming local producers interest. Discuss the necessity, location, buyers, and other. Organize a committee to oversee the farmers market. image from :
