8 Food Innovation Center Overview The Food Innovation Center is the new home of the University of Nebraska Lincoln Food Science and Technology Department and other private companies on Nebraska Innovation Campus. The project involved the construction of new office and classroom space within the walls of a historically designated structure and the creation of a new laboratory building. The buildings are designed using modular planning principles and feature open, interactive laboratory design concepts. The buildings provide easy access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and specialized equipment for both faculty and industry partners. The Food Innovation Center gives faculty and students more space to do research in food processing, safety, allergens and nutrition, while also designating classrooms for chemistry, microbiology and food product development. The building opened in August Announced Partners located in the Food Innovation Center
