8 Farm Dispersal Sale Report - Friday 14th September 2018 At Kings Delph Gate Farm, Farcet Fen, Peterborough on behalf of R K Bradley & Sons An excellent day for a farm sale, not too hot and no rain. A genuine dispersal sale due to the sale of the farm, which drew in a large crowd on the sale day. Prices ranged from 1 to 69,000. Over 70 buyers were recorded on the day for 180 lots and many more bidders going home empty handed, travelling from Scarborough, Norfolk, Cambridge, Derbyshire and Isle of Sheppey along with many locals supporting the sale. You can usually gauge how the sale will go from the early lots and from the start demand was high, even for the sundries that most people already have tucked away in their workshops. Old metal fuel tanks started the sale making 10 each, next some humane rabbit traps making 14 then an air rifle that might not knock the skin off a rice pudding made 50. The crowd came in closer to the lots and bids came from every direction gaining momentum. A pile of pea shingle came under the hammer, something the auctioneer had never sold before and even that realised 500. Moving on to the larger lots, telephone bids were made and some of the older machines would be realising more than what they cost from new. The tractors sold to the trade, perhaps showing the financial pressures the farming community is under at the moment. Bletsoes would like to thank the Bradley family for letting us conduct their dispersal sale and wish them good luck for their future ventures. If you would like us to conduct your sale please contact our Auctioneers who would be delighted to quote for your sale.
