There are no Boilers in the existing plant. Hence there cannot be dust emissions due to fuel storage & handling. Three stage PP / FRP scrubber to SSP unit has been provided to bring down the Fluoride emissions to less than 15 mg/nm 3 and total fluoride emissions to less than 25 mg/nm 3. Cyclone separators have been provided to the grinding unit to bring down the dust emissions to less than 50 mg/nm 3. KSPCB is issuing Consent for Operation for our unit periodically after monitoring the dust emissions from unit.. The certified compliance report issued by MOEF Regional office also confirms that the emissions from the existing plant are within the norms. The crops grown in their field got affected due to deposition of dust there by the yield has reduced, which is causing adverse effects and requested to stop such nuisances in future. He requested the company to come forward to take supportive actions for their villagers. Medical camps have been conducted in the nearby villages. He expressed that, due to natural change in wind directions, the crops grown in the respective wind direction fields are badly affected. The dust emissions contain acid fumes and it is adversely affecting on the neighbouring fields, this needs to be controlled. The irrigated lands are badly affected and its fertility is deteriorating day by day, which is reducing crop yield year after year. Demanded for crop damage/losses compensation, since the crops grown in their fields are only their livelihood and it is causing financial burdens. The emissions discharged from plant operations are affecting on health of villagers. Predominant wind direction is towards NE. There is no habitation close to the plant in NE direction. At present several local people are working in various departments of the existing plant. In the expansion project also the company will certainly give top priority to local people in employment. When freshers are recruited, they will be placed for one year training period. During this period the company is paying stipend to them as per the labour act.. After successful completion of one year training period, they are put under regular wages act and all benefits are applicable to them. The wages are in accordance with the govt stipulation. Company is providing dress, ID card to all employees. The company is not supporting un-employed village youths those are having certificates of ITI, Diploma, B.E. etc The few local village employees recruited in the company is not being made under pay-role, they have been given with very low salary and it is not as per the Government wages, same need to be verified and justice to be made. The said local employees were not given with company dress, ID card and there is no job-security, this need to be attended immediately. Page 4 of 7

The company is not at all considering the requests made by PG graduates, ITI & Diploma holders since beginning and not providing employment opportunities to local un-employee youths. The company is giving jobs only to those bring/make influence fetters from the local political leaders. 45% of the workers in the plant are from Halavarthy, Kunikeri & Kunikeri Thanda alone. 78% of the workers are from Karnataka state. We will certainly give top priority to local people in expansion project also. It is not paying wages to locally recruited employees as per the Govt wages. Company is paying wages in accordance with the govt. norms The company has not compensated by giving opportunities for the land losers, as they are depending for jobs, since they have lost the land. Company has provided jobs to the land sellers. That is about 25% of the total strength. The Village panchayath is not functioning properly and not rendering its services to public. Not related to the company 5. Sri. Basavarai Bellad, Halavarthi-villaae, Koppal: The company has to provide employment opportunities only for the local un-employed graduates. The company is operating in this sector since 5 years and it has helped many villagers by providing various jobs according to their merits and requirements. The company has to distribute crop compensation based on the damage and to help the farmers by suffering crop loss. The company is discharging acid mixed emissions in to the atmosphere; the said fumes are badly affecting health on the surrounding villagers. Its adverse effect is resulting in birth of Handicapped babies in the village and villagers are hesitating to express it before the public. possibility of any crop damage caused due to our plant operations. However on confirmation by the concerned govt agency that crop damage has occurred due to our industry, then necessary compensation will be paid by the company as per the concerned govt. department directions. The company has taken only un-educated local pupil to work, there is huge differences while making their wages, especially for women labours, only half payments are made when compared with men labour. Few local people were working under Contractors of the company at the construction stage undertaken few months back. They might have done like this.
