6 Efforts to improve cotton quality & reduce contamination Reducing cotton contamination is the No. 1 priority for all cotton companies and farmers in Africa Joint workplan of the African Cotton Association (ACA), i.e. ginners and the African Cotton Producers Association (AProCa), i.e. farmers Special projects are on-going in Burkina Faso, Côte d Ivoire, Mali and Senegal Development of Partnerships between African ginners and preferred interested Asian spinners Contamination reduction efforts at the farm level Farmers receive cotton picking backs with 2 compartments for A and B quality Cotton is being stored on special wooden devices above the soil Storage of cotton at village level in specially constructed sites with cotton coverage 55
