The wide spectrum broadleaf weed specialist

A new post-emergent broadleaf weed herbicide registered for use in established fine and amenity turf. Active ingredients Prosulfuron (5 g/kg) and Dicamba (5 g/kg) Scheduling S6 (Poison) Formulation and packaging CASPER is a water dispersible granule (WDG) formulation that mixes easily with water to form a homogenous suspension. Individual pack size is 1 kg and shipper size is 1 x 1 kg.

Background on the actives Prosulfuron is new to the Australian market. It has a strong history of controlling annual broadleaf weeds in field crops overseas (US and Europe) especially if applied to young actively growing weeds. Australia is the first country in the world in which it is registered in turf. Dicamba is a herbicide that has been widely used in the Australian market for many years. Often found in mixtures with MCPA and Bromoxynil it has a strong record of performance on broad leaf weeds. Its major limitation is it cannot be used on Stenotaphrum species (the buffalo s). Prosulfuron Dicamba Chemical group Group B Group I Chemistry class Sulfonylurea Benzoic acid MOA LD 5 Re-entry period General targets Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) inhibitor leading to deficiencies in essential amino acids. Mimics hormones causing uncontrolled cell division and growth. Ingestion: Low Toxicity [Oral LD 5 : >2, mg/kg] Dermal: Low Toxicity [Dermal LD 5 : >2, mg/kg] Inhalation: Low Toxicity [Inhalation LC 5 : > 4.46 mg/l air - 4 hours] Eye contact: Non Irritant Skin contact: Non Irritant, no skin sensitizing No not enter until spray deposit is dry. Annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. Absorption and systemicity Absorbed by roots and leaves extensive translocation in both the xylem and the phloem to all parts of the target weed. Penetrates leaves, shoots and roots readily translocated in xylem and phloem to all parts of the target weed. Accumulates in leaf and root tips. Speed of action The two active ingredients operate at different rates within the target. The Dicamba is the faster of the two and the early results observed can be attributed to it. The Prosulfuron is

slower but extremely effective in delivering a complete kill. Together they are the perfect partners for broadleaf weed management. Turf Safety CASPER is safe to use on a variety of warm and cool season grasses with the clear exception of buffalo grass (Stenotaphrum spp.). Safe species include: Carpet grass, Couch and Couch hybrids, Kikuyu, Paspalum, QLD Blue couch, Zoysia, Bent grass, Fescue and Perennial Rye grass. Precautions Do not apply CASPER to golf course putting greens Do not apply CASPER to buffalo grass Do not apply CASPER to turf that is not well established Allow 25m downwind spray drift buffer to aquatic areas during spraying Allow 1m downwind spray drift buffer to natural vegetation areas during spraying *** Always consult the registered label for a full list of restraints

Tank mixing CASPER is compatible with BARRICADE and MONUMENT LIQUID in tank mixtures. Tank mixtures with BARRICADE can be considered around the ideal application timing for BARRICADE in spring (end August) and autumn (end February). Tank mixtures with MONUMENT LIQUID can be considered when multiple weeds needs to be controlled (e.g. broadleaf weeds and ryegrass in couch). Ensure that the tank mixing and application instructions for MONUMENT LIQUID is adhered to (e.g. ph adjustment of spray mix prior o adding MONUMENT LIQUID) Always add a non-ionic surfactant as described on the label. Always consider the compatibility and turf safety of any other mixtures before applying any quantity to your turf. Please consult with a Syngenta employee if uncertain. Critical application notes 1) Add a non-ionic surfactant at.25.5 % v/v ratio. This helps ensure maximum contact between the chemical and the target and is particularly important for low dose / slow moving herbicides such as the sulfonyl urea group. 2) Ensure the spray is delivered as a coarse spray droplet. 3) Apply in a total volume of 4-8 L / ha using the higher volume in heavy weed infestations or higher cut turf. 4) This product should not be applied using equipment carried on the back of the user. Read the label If you are using this product, it is a legal requirement that you read, and comply with, all directions given on the label. This includes directions for use, recording of use and the storage and disposal of containers.
