12 Result 2: ECOWAS Seed Regulation Planned Activities Level of Realisation/ Results Obtained in 2014 Update/develop national seed legislations and regulations in consonance with the ECOWAS Seed Regulation: Implementation of the harmonized regulation facilitated in the region Cote D Ivoire, Chad, B.Faso, Gambia, Benin, Togo, Guinea, Establish a seed import/export system with a regional quarantine pest list (all countries): Regional seed marketing facilitated Plant quarantine pest list updated

13 Result 2: ECOWAS Seed Regulation Planned Activities Level of Realization/ Results obtained Publish the ECOWAS Seed Régulation in national gazettes The regulation come into force in: 6 countries published in 2014 bringing to 12 in total Develop common approaches with CILSS and IFDC to implement seed, fertilizer and pesticide regulations Implemenation of seed, fertilizer and pesticide regulations advanced in Liberia and Ghana Implement one ECOWAS/UEMOA/CILSS harmonized regulation Agreement to implement a common regulation reached;

18 Result 3: Supply of Breeder Seeds Increased Planned Activities Level of Realisation/ Results obtained Support NARS in planning the volume of Breeder Seed required to meet the demand of Foundation and certified seeds; Modeling tool developed Five-year road-maps for seed supply and use developed for Mali, Nigeria and Senegal Provide support to CGIAR/NARS Seed Units to produce breeder seeds at the required standards; 39 tons BS produced and deployed to private sector in 6 countries in ha breeder seed fields established in 2014/15
