5 Conclusions: soil and water system for society Soil and water system contribute to the welfare; it is the basis for energy supply, building and construction, soil management and production of drinking water, food etc. Unconscious use can lead to substantial damage and costs The ecosystem services of the soil and water system are underused and benefits are unused 5

7 Dutch Knowledge Agenda for Soil and Water Dutch Soil Platform is a joint initiative of Ministries of the physical domain and their research institutes. Supported by SKB and the soil protection technical committee Goals: Increase efficiency and effectiveness of medium term strategic soil research Coordinate supply and demand of knowledge Improve the international position of institutes Result: a research agenda for the future 7 4 juni 2013
