6 PHOSPHORUS TIE-UP IN MANURE Particulate phosphorus is attached to solids and distributed like solids. This means sludge-rich manure often has higher phosphorus contents and watery manure from the surface has less. 8 HOW DOES pitpro WORK? Solids in manure settle out of solution, creating sludge at the bottom of the pit. pitpro is an ultra-negative charged longchained molecule. The molecule has many bonding sites and acts like a strong magnet. 9 HOW DOES pitpro WORK? pitpro pulls the positively charged particles, e.g. heavy metals, from the bottom, dislodging solid buildup. This loosens up the remaining negatively charged particles. 16 pitpro IMPROVES NITROGEN MANAGEMENT We added the first product in April and when we pumped it, I was really shocked at the nitrogen levels. They were double what I anticipated. I think there s some real value to this. Also, we had 120-pound pigs in the barn and before we added it, the nitrogen levels in the air would burn your eyes a little bit and I haven t noticed that since. The air quality has been a lot better. 17 pitpro USAGE GUIDELINES USE CASE HOG CATTLE Low Rate 2 Gal. of pitpro 1.5 Gal of pitpro High Rate 4 Gal. of pitpro 3 Gal. of pitpro *Rate Assumptions: PitPro / 100K Gal. of Manure Apply 50% of recommended rate when pit is 25-35% full, then apply 25% of recommended rate when pit is 50% full, and apply remaining 25% of recommended rate 30 days prior to pump-out. For maximum performance distribute product equally through pit pump-outs. Use low end of rate to: - Dislodge solid buildup at bottom of pit <12 inches - Keep solids from building up - Increase agitation efficiency - Increase uniformity/distribution of manure during pump out Use high end of rate to: - Do all listed above - Dislodge >12 inches of solids annually at bottom of pit Pour pitpro directly into the pit. pitpro starts working immediately when the negative charges of the product connect with positive ions in the manure.
