Information and ratings are based on comparisons with other products sold by Beck s. Information and scores are assigned by Beck s and are based on period-of-years testing through 2017 harvest and were the latest available at time of printing. Some scores may change after 2018 harvest. Scores represent an average of performance data across areas of adaptation, multiple growing conditions, and a wide range of both climate and soil types, and may not predict future results. Individual product responses are variable and subject to a variety of environmental, disease and pest pressures. Please use this information as only one component of your product positioning decision. Phoenix *XL brand seed is distributed by Beck s Superior Hybrids, Inc. Contains a single-bag integrated refuge solution for above-ground insects. In EPA-designated cotton growing counties, a 20 separate corn borer refuge must be planted with Optimum AcreMax products. AMX - Optimum AcreMax Xtra Insect Protection system with YGCB, HXX, LL, RR2. Contains a single-bag integrated refuge solution for above- and below-ground insects. In EPA-designated cotton growing counties, a 20 separate corn borer refuge must be planted with Optimum AcreMax Xtra products. AMXT (Optimum AcreMax XTreme) - Contains a single-bag integrated refuge solution for above- and below-ground insects. The major component contains the Agrisure RW trait, the YieldGard Corn Borer gene, and the Herculex XTRA genes. In EPA-designated cottongrowing counties, a 20 separate corn borer refuge must be planted with Optimum AcreMax XTreme products. Optimum AQUAmax hybrids help deliver a yield advantage in water-limited environments and offer top-end yield potential under more favorable growing conditions. Product performance in water-limited environments is variable and depends on many factors such as the severity and timing of moisture deficiency, heat stress, soil type, management practices and environmental stress as well as disease and pest pressures. All hybrids may exhibit reduced yield under water and heat stress. Individual results may vary. Optimum brand products available through the XL brand. Always follow IRM, grain marketing and all other stewardship practices and pesticide label directions. Roundup Ready crops contain genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup brand agricultural herbicides. Roundup brand agricultural herbicides will kill crops that are not tolerant to glyphosate. B.t. products may not yet be registered in all states. Starch Starch is a gd source of energy derived from the grain. Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) A measure of hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin representing the fibrous bulk of the forage. Hemicellulose and cellulose can be broken down by microbes in the rumen to provide energy to the animal. Forages with higher NDF will take longer to digest and therefore reduce intake. Neutral Detergent Fiber Digestibility (NDFD) A measure of how much of the NDF is digestible fiber. A silage with higher NDFD is potentially more digestible and has higher available energy in the diet. According to Michigan State University 1 point difference in NDFD equates to 0.55 pound of milk/cow/day^. Crude Protein (CP) The total protein in the sample including true protein and non-protein nitrogen. Protein is required on a daily basis for maintenance, lactation, growth and reproduction. Proteins can be further fractionated for ruminants according to their rate of breakdown in the rumen. Milk/Acre A projection of potential milk yield produced on an acre. Based on Milk lb./ton and forage tonnage per acre. Milk/Ton A projection of potential milk yield per ton of silage dry matter based on digestibility and energy content of the forage. Tons The projected amount of forage weight (adjusted to 65 moisture) produced on an acre of land. Allen, Mike. "Time to Regroup." Michigan Dairy Review. April Web.
