7 AGRICULTURE IN TURKEY S TRADE RELATIONS WITH THE EU-I ACD No. 1/98 The EU eliminated all the ad-valorem duties for the basic agricultural products originating in Turkey (exceptions, entry price, specific duty applied products, etc.) Protocol 1 : comprises concessions provided to Turkey Protocol 2: comprises concessions provided to the EU (mainly tariff quotas with duty reduction) Protocol 3: Origin protocol ACD No. 2/2006 Adaptation of concessions included in FTAs with 8 acceded members in 2004 to 1/98.

9 PREFERENTIAL REGIME FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS IN TURKEY S FTA S Scope: Chapters 1-24 and certain agricultural products falling within chapters Exchange of concessions: Reduction or elimination of duties for limited number of agricultural products within tariff quotas or unlimited quantities on a mutually beneficial and balanced basis. Evolutionary clause: Taking into account the role of agriculture in their respective economies, the development of trade in agricultural products, the high sensitivity of agricultural products and the rules of their respective agricultural policy, the Parties have the possibilities to grant further concessions to each other. Rules of origin: Protocol on rules of origin is also applicable for agricultural products.
