2 Introduction: Markets are the very authentic places where reflect the scenario of the country. So market is an important indicator to know the economic conditions of the country. By knowing the prices we can justify the socio-economic situation of a particular area. To know the northwest context RDRS Bangladesh has been carrying out market price survey since With the help of programme coordinators (PCs), NBI has been taken lead to accumulate data and generate the report for all concerns. Methodology: Conducting the survey tools and techniques were used in a systematic manner. Collection of primary data and analyzing report is being generated under the methodology given bellow: i. Selection of Hats and Bazars: One central bazar from each district and at least one hat/bazar from each upazila were selected for data collection. Also the secondary data was used for comparison. ii. iii. Selection of Respondents: Retailers were the target respondents of the study. For more authentic of the data, two or more retailers has been interviewed in the same Hat /Bazar. Method of Data Collection: Primary data was collected through direct interview by using structured questionnaire for the sellers. Comparison & Analysis: Last 12 years trend 1

3 Wage Rate: Last 12 years trend Rangpur division is consisting of eight districts. Industrial growth in this region is very poor. As a result, wage rate for this area is not good enough. 6 Difference between Dhaka and Rangpur Divisions commodities price We know the price of essential commodities is differences one place to another, especially in urban and rural areas, capital city and districts. We can see In the table:2 the retail price of some essential goods and wage rate of labors of Rangpur and Dhaka division. The data of Dhaka division has been collected from the database of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).
