The decrease is mainly attributed to decline in prices of Cereals, Oilseeds, Pulses and Gur & Sugar. Decrease in the index of Pulses, Gur & Sugar has resulted decrease in the index of Food Articles. 4 Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers of Central Series : Karnataka (Base Year 2001=100) Centre / Months Jul-17 Aug-17 Sep-17 Oct-17 Nov-17 Dec-17 Bengaluru Belagavi Hubballi- Dharwad Mercara Mysuru Source : Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, GOI, Shimla Among 5 centres of central series Mysuru centre recorded an highest increase in index by 5 points in December 2017 over September During the corresponding period of the previous year Mysuru & Belagavi centres index recorded the highest increase in index by 3 & 1 points followed by Mercara, Hubballi Dharwad and Bengaluru decreased by 3 and 1 points. During the corresponding period of the previous year the index was In Karnataka, CPI-IW moved to 7183 points in September 2017 to 7191 points in December 2017, showing an increase of 8 points i.e. an increase of 0.11% and during the corresponding period of the previous year, this index was decreased by 17 points i.e. an decrease of 0.25%. During the corresponding period of the previous year maximum increase in index was observed in Chennai by 3 points. The year on year inflation measured by monthly CPI stood at 4% for December 2017 as compared to 3.97% for the previous month and 2.23% during the corresponding month of the previous year. 7 Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers : All India & Karnataka (Base Year =100) Months All India Karnataka Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Source : Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, GOI, Shimla Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers at All-India level, the general index has increased from 893 in September 2017 to 900 in December 2017, showing an increase of 0.78%. Where as in Karnataka the general index moved to 1062 in December 2017 from 1071 in September 2017 to showing an decrease of 0.84%. Index of Industrial Production of Karnataka : to Base Year : Sector Weight Mining Manufacturing* Electricity General Index Total Source: Directorate of Economics & Statistics, GOK, Bengaluru, The general index of industrial production (IIP) of Karnataka covering Mining, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors for stood at has moved to with a growth of 1.82% in During , the indices of Mining, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors stood at 69.38, and showing a decline of, 4.41% in Electricity sector and positive growth of 2.34% in Manufacturing sector and 19.74% in Mining sector over a previous year i.e During , the corresponding indices stood at in Mining sector, in Manufacturing sector and in Electricity sector.
