These heifers are big and stout there is a reason they lead off the commercial female offering. There is a fine line between our replacements and this group of heifers who will calve with ease and make excellent mother cows. They were raised and bred as replacements. The first group of heifers are AI Bred to SONIC to calve January 31st to February 16th. The second group were bred to the Rich Angus herd sire DIAMOND CAVALRY 496D to calve February 24th to March 8th. This is a uniform group of heifers that will calve without help and bring in an exceptional calf. 3A 3B 10 Head AI Bred Heifers to calve January 31 to Feb 16 _ 9 Head Natural Service Bred Heifers Bred to Calve February 24 to March 8 _ 2 WICHMAN RANCH 39 Head January/February Calving Heifers These are the heifers that bring in buyers year after year. Their steer mates at the Wichman Ranch were some of the heaviest weaned calves in Central Montana and are consistently at the top of the Northern Livestock Video Sales. Mark & Arlene Wichman have built a cow herd with its foundation in the Diamond Dot program and have continued to expand on it by choosing high dollar bulls. The first 10 heifers are AI bred to DIAMOND REPUBLIC to calve January 15th. Mark guarantees that you won t pull a calf from this mating and notes that their older sisters weaned 800# calves. The balance of the heifers are pasture bred to natural service sires including DIAMOND BREAKOUT 112D, the young calving ease sire chosen by the Wichman s in our 2016 sale. Each group will calve for 21 days beginning February 5th and February 26th respectively. These heifers have received their first scourbos shot. 2A 2B 2C 11 Head AI d to calve January 15th _ 15 Head Natural Service bred to begin calving February 5th _ 13 Head Natural Service bred to begin calving February 26th Head February Calving AI Bred Heifers A really complete set of heifers from the Diamond Dot commercial cow herd. All synchronized and bred to RB BLACK RANGER over a three day period to calve the last week of February. These heifers are all out of proven cows that calve on their own and bring in a nice calf every year. 78 Head AI Bred Heifers to calve February 5th and 15th Roger Derks has been a long time consignor and customer in our program. These heifers are home raised and AI bred to SONIC and AVIATOR and other top calving ease Angus AI sires. The Derks Brothers have built their program on cattle that take care of themselves, calve easy and bring in a heavy calf in the fall. Their AI program and careful replacement selection spans over 30 years. 2 6 N-L LIVESTOCK 10 Head The current cow herd of Newell and Linda Roche of N Bar L Livestock is a prime example of how the Diamond Dot program can improve a herd in just a few generations. These 10 heifers are out of the heart of their replacements. They were synchronized and bred in small groups to grandsons of BASIN MAX 602C to calve January 10th February 10th. These heifers have had pregguard, both scourbos shots and been poured with dectomax. _ 9 YOUNG COWS 19 Head young cows Out of the Diamond Dot herd, a nice set of young cows coming with their second and third calves bred to our top herd sires including PAYWEIGHT 0135, COLUMBUS and RESOURCE. They will begin calving March 20th for 45 days. These cows come with the option to purchase registration papers. _ 7 BOB MCCRAY RANCH 45 Head A perennial favorite of the sale, these fancy F1 baldy bred heifers come from Bob McCray s ranch at Geyser, MT long time Diamond Dot customer. These are big stout heifers turned out with a set of MAX 602C grandsons that sell as Lot in our 2 year old bull offering. Bred to calve for 30 days beginning February 15, These girls will pay for themselves in no time and be functional, high producing cows for years to come. The average sale day weight will be about 1096 lbs Head Natural Service Bred February Calving Heifers February calving heifers. Primarily natural service bred to our herd sires VERMIILION COUNTDOWN D062 and JVC DISCOVERY D05. These heifers were raised and bred with our registered replacements. To calve from the 2nd week to the end of February. 10 BAKER RANCH 123 Head Young Cows A solid set of young cows kept and bred specifically for this offering. Bred to the STILL IN THE ROUGH sons that sell as Lots 332, 334, 336, 337 and 345 in this sale book. These cows all raised calves at Diamond Dot this year. They are on the scourbos program and all freeze branded with 500 number ID s. These young cows originate from our long time customer, the Baker Ranch of Jordan, MT. The Bakers have purchased their bulls from our family for nearly half a century and have a reputation for producing one of the best and most consistent set of calves in the harsh Eastern Montana environment. Their commitment to their program and their outstanding cattle are evident as each year their calves top the July Northern Video Sale. Cows are marked as carrying a heifer calf, a bull calf or March calving. 3 PROVEN COWS HUGHES BROTHERS Head 2 yr old cows Two year old cows purchased by Lance and Amy Hughes specifically for this sale. AI bred to STILL IN THE ROUGH and turned out with his sons. They will be sorted by calving date and the first 63 will begin calving March 10th for 1 cycle while the last 13 will calve starting April 15. The majority of these young cows are NO BRAND. Calved out at Hughes Brothers last year, these girls weaned nice calves and will make a great foundation for a young commercial cow herd. 11A 40 Head to begin calving March 10th CARR ANGUS & N-L Head mixed age cows A nice group of proven cows out of Clint & Valerie Carr s registered cow herd and Newell & Linda Roche s commercial herd. The first group will calve Late February through March and are primarily out of the Carr Angus cows. They are selling these proven cows who have brought in exceptional calves year after year only to make room for replacement heifers. The second set of cows are mixed age, 3 7 yrs and will calve in April. Bred to top quality registered bulls. 14A 18 head to calve Late February through March Head 46 head of Angus 2 year old cows purchased and bred specifically for this sale. They will calve with ease and have the maternal background to wean a heavy calf next fall. Ultrasound preg tested to begin calving March 5th for 21 days March Bred Heifers 63 Angus heifers out of a long-established reputation herd in the Judith Basin. Derks Brothers that are bred to Stevenson s Diamond Dot bulls. The Derks herd has been built on 30 years of AI and careful selection. Their cows are expected to work for a living and bring in a heavy calf in the fall. You can expect no less from this nice set of Angus heifers. They will calve February 26th to March 15th. 17 JOHN MCCRAY 45 Head Bred Heifers John McCray has been putting together a top quality Angus herd at Geyser, MT. Through careful selection, a good AI program and choosing top Diamond Dot sires each year, he has developed a top quality cow herd that any commercial cattleman would be proud of. The first 14 head are confirmed AI bred to DIAMOND JUSTICE 901S May 14th to calve February 20th. The second set of 31 heifers are bred to a set of KG HIGH REGARD brothers that sell as Lot 319 to Lot 324 who balance calving ease, performance and maternal value. They will begin calving the last week of February for 30 days. This set is primarily all black with a small number of bwf heifers that can be sorted at the buyers discretion. Home raised, 1 brand, 1100# 19 ALAN HENDRICKSON 40 Head Angus Bred Heifers This group of heifers is out of an excellent set of cattle from a longtime friend and customer. Out of a herd that has been Igenity tested and scored well for average daily gain and percent choice. A real even set of heifers bred to top end light birth weight HOOVER DAM sons to begin calving March 20th for 50 days. These heifers are located 45 miles northeast of Dickinson, ND a bonus for buyers to the east! They are a really uniform, fancy set of big, thick, high maternal heifers. These heifers were weaned late September and selected as the top end out of 120 heifers. They are bangs vaccinated and branded with a 700 number to indicate birth year. This lot is a unique opportunity to add an excellent set of replacements to your herd. _ Head No Brand BWF Heifer Calves This is a set of NO BRAND fancy baldie heifer calves out of registered Angus cows and top Hereford bulls.
