2 Spring Barley Mickle THE NO 1 SPRING FEED BARLEY FOR IRISH GROWERS Why? Mickle has the best bushel and excellent straw characteristics on the spring barley DAFM Recommended List It has excellent resistance to Rhynchosporium and benefits from a good, early disease programme. To get the harvest going, Mickle is the earliest spring barley variety currently available which is a major bonus if drilling is delayed. Mickle - the safe bet! KWS IRINA KWS Irina RELIABLY HIGH YIELDS WITH EXCELLENT DISEASE AND STRAW KWS Irina is the highest yielding fully recommended variety on the DAFM Recommended List It has excellent overall disease resistance, especially Net Blotch, suiting early drilling where disease pressure is high or where stubbles were diseased over-winter. KWS Irina has excellent straw characteristics suiting high fertility sites and first rotation feed situations. KWS Irina - the all-rounder! SPRING BARLEY DAFM R Sanette THIS IS A LATE MATURING VARIETY AND WORKS WELL ON OLDER TILLAGE GROUNDS Sanette has very good disease resistance to Rhynchosporium, Net Blotch and Mildew. A reliable variety that is consistent year on year which is moderately tall. Sanette is a relatively late maturing variety so is very suitable for early plantings and has a high resistance to brackling. Sanette is a feed only variety in Ireland and is suitable for planting in a continuous rotation. Choose for continuous tillage ground! Propino is a tall variety and needs a robust fungicide programme to deliver its full potential. Choose for grain quality and consistent performance! Mildew Rhynchosporium Brown Rust Net Blotch Quality: 1,000 grain wt. (g) Hectolitre wt. (kg/hl) Screenings% (<2.2 mm) Year First Listed

3 Laureate (Limited availability) A NEW STANDARD FOR THE BREWING AND DISTILLING INDUSTRY Laureate is the first malting barley that successfully combines the zero GN trait with excellent yields, grain quality and disease resistance. It is the highest yielding non GN variety, with low screenings and best overall disease rating on the DAFM Recommended List. Laureate has exceptional ability to deliver high yields of marketable malting barley in low fertility sites but needs management to prevent lodging in high fertility situations. Choose for yield and malting potential! Olympus (Limited availability) SPECIALLY SELECTED FOR THE DISTILLING INDUSTRY Olympus is a non-gn variety with good grain quality, good specific weight and low screenings, combined with a high grain nitrogen making it very suitable for the distilling industry. Olympus has very good resistance to all diseases making it a consistent performer on farm but needs management to prevent lodging in high fertility situations. Choose for the distilling market.
