9 QUALITY MATERIALS SANTREV MADE TO SANTREV QUALITY We have a very long-term life expectancy for our poultry houses. We expect they will work for you at peak performance year-in, year-out. The quality of the materials defines the longevity of your investment. This is just one reason why we over-engineer our sheds and use only heavy duty components. To fully be able to guarantee quality we had to invest in our own factory to fabricate components. Structural frames are produced in the Santrev owned and operated factory to Australian Standards. To ensure components meet our exacting requirements, we have all fabricated steel components independently tested in Australia for grade of steel, tolerances and weld integrity. Cool panels are tested by CSIRO scientists for fire rating, insulation and bond quality. We utilize a rigorous regime of checking and re-checking components against precise templates before a component is passed as fit and can leave the factory, regardless of where the factory is located. For overseas-supplied components, our Australian representative conducts spot-checks to ensure the full quality tracking process is maintained. 16 BREEDER AUSTRALIA S LEADING PROCESSORS AND PREMIER BREEDING FACILITIES THE SANTREV DESIGNED AND BUILT PURGA BREEDER FACILITY BROKE THE MOULD FOR SPECIALISED BREEDER FARMS. The facility didn t just take performance to another level, it blasted it to another planet. When Steggles commissioned Santrev to take on the design and building of this large 17 shed complex, the brief was deceptively simple: deliver a world class facility. Central to achieving the brief was reducing the cost to produce a fertile egg. The Steggles Purga Breeder Facility broke the mould on many fronts. Never before had building 17 breeder sheds in three bio-secure farms on the one property been considered. Never before had each farm complex been designed from the outset to be fully self-contained with a single shower on/shower off point of entry, staff offices and amenities, egg collection, handling, fumigation and storage. Never before had the design concentrated so minutely on all operational aspects. The results stand alone. This facility has consistently been the most disease free, highest performing facility with the lowest cost of production in Australia. 18 LAYER AND FREE RANGE FREE RANGE: LAYERS WHEN KINROSS FARM, ONE OF AUSTRALIA S LEADING FRESH EGG PRODUCERS, NEEDED TO EXPAND THEIR FREE RANGE EGG PRODUCTION, THEY SOUGHT ADVICE FROM SANTREV. In a project that spans three years, Kinross will benefit from state-of-the-art free range layer sheds designed and built to exceed all free range criteria. Kinross Farm has a well-earned reputation for pampering their birds. The free range specification can impose some difficulties in shed design, inefficiencies in energy consumption and ultimately impact on bird production. Santrev optimised the design within the free range constraints by utilising tailored elements including a ramped wintergarden staging area, integrated computer controlled ridge ventilation system and enhanced insulation.
