2 ABOUT US 85 YEARS THE PROVIDERS OF HIGH QUALITY AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY Piket Implements originated in 2018 from Carel van Niekerk Engineering, which was established in 1993 & before that from Van Niekerk & Krupp. Van Niekerk & Krupp has been established in 1933 by Hennie van Niekerk & Sam Krupp. This was the first company in South Africa to import Case-tractors & at a later stage: Clayson-poachers & Zetor-tractors. Piket Implements is a manufacturing & repairing company of Piket Implements, mainly. The company draws their attention to the latest technology standards in developing a wide range of the best possible quality of agricultural machinery & implements. Piket Implements, is a well known international brand name, even in Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe & Zambia. A wide range of designs has made its appearance over the past few years. Piket Implements is mostly known for its No Till, fine seed - & wheat planters. Some of the standard products of which the company has been manufacturing over the past few years is: air seeders, tine planters, disc planters, conventional & economy maize planters, vineyard cover crop planters, transfer carts, no till drills, vides, concaves, horse arena rollers, wood log saws & - splitters, as well as damscoops which has a unique ability to hook a second damscoop behind the first one in tandem. Another characteristic of Piket Implements is the manufacturing of Piket Seed Meters which can be calibrated quick & easily to ensure accurate planting & has great germination results. Piket Implements is a dynamic company which concentrates on the development & improvement of agricultural machinery, build on the close cooperation with farmers to fulfill farming expectations. 8 FINE SEED PLANTERS PLANTING UNIT OPERATION: The tines loosen the soil. The clod-breaking roller breaks the large clods & the seeds are then sown onto the soil just ahead of the compaction roller which then compacts it. Tines lift up tractor wheel tracks & ensures an even surface for maximum germination. APPLICABLE TO THE SPIRAL COMPACTION ROLLER: The excellent seed germination is mainly due to the unique design of the spiral compaction roller. When the spiral-rolled angle-iron is rolled over the soil surface, it not only executes a compaction action, but a sideways worm-screw action as well. Simple mechanism eliminates errors during planting process Few parts to wear down Use standard bearings, chains & sprockets PLANTING UNIT OPERATION: The Piket No Till Drill is fitted with single cutting coulter units & double-disc opener units or single disc opener units. Each parallel bar has it s own individual depth control. The Piket Hydraulic No Till Drill has a cutting coulter ahead of each disc opener to cut the residue to prevent the rake of trash & blockage & to do a bit of tillage & start to open the seed furrow. The disc openers follows the cutting coulter; which give excellent depth control & seed-to-soil contact in fields. Disc blades offer better penetration & improved residue slicing. A narrow angle between blades delivers a consistent seed trench. Depth-control are maintained via the operation of single rubber press wheels which also firm seed into the furrow. Double-disc openers are staggered in a long/short pattern for better residue flow & alternating offset blades prevent side drafting. Each opener has hydraulic flexibility to handle rocks & clumps. 17 ECONOMY NO TILL MAIZE PLANTER PLANTING UNIT OPERATION: DOUBLE SEED/FERTILISER HOPPER INSIDE VIEW: SEED & FERTILISER HOPPERS The disc cuts through the roots & plant material to reduce blockage of the tine. Right behind the cutting disc runs the tine, which loosen the soil. The fertiliser are placed directly behind the tine at the desired depth at which the tine is set. The seed can then be placed at a separate depth through an adjustable seed boot. Both seed & fertiliser are fed through pipes from the metering units to the seed boot & tine.
