4 (1395 = 100) The Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 0.7 percent in. The index level of was 52.9 percent higher than in Dey For the first 10 months of 1397, the PPI edged up 38.4 percent, compared to the similar period in This index moved up 34.2 percent for the 12 months ended in. Agriculture, forestry and fishing: In Dey, a 1.5-percent increase in the prices of this group can be traced to the rises in the indices for growing of grain maize, snap beans, growing of leaf vegetables, tangerines, kiwifruit, raising of sheep and goats, raising of poultry and Persian Gulf fish. In contrast, prices of growing of oil seeds, sesame seed, oranges, lemons, eggs and fish farming in freshwater went down. Manufacturing: The Manufacturing group index moved down 0.6 percent, which was mostly due to the falls in the indices for manufacture of carbonated soft drinks, MDF, paper and paperboard, carton and carton sheet, pentane, raffinate, paraffin wax and vaseline, methanol, paraxylene, exported resins, spiral pipes, iron profiles, copper wire rod, aluminum ingot, zinc ingot, manufacture of optical disk drives, distribution transformers, 1

5 batteries for vehicles, manufacture of wires and cables, and gas valves. On the contrary, prices for slaughter livestock and poultry, "manufacture of canned fruits, juices and syrups", olive oil, sterilized milk, gluten, biscuits and wafers, "cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery", livestock and poultry feeds, naphtha, acetic acid, benzene, propane, styrene, PVC, rubber tyres for construction and agricultural machinery, plastic sheets, automobile glass, ceramic, concrete, cutlery and hand tools, power transformers, electric fuses, electrical switches and sockets, industrial valves, tractors, passenger cars, pickup trucks, poppet valve, and disc and clutch plate went up. Services: Increases in the indices of freight by trucks, telecommunications and dental services led to 2.5 percent rise in the services group index. 2
