2 Legal foundations of functioning of Polish agricultural self-government The legal foundation of the agricultural selfgovernment in Poland is the act of 14 December 1995 on agricultural chambers On the basis of law, members of the agricultural self-government are private and legal persons who are agricultural tax payers, individual tax payers from special branches of the agricultural production and members of agricultural production cooperatives owing land in these cooperatives

3 Organisational units of agricultural self-government Agricultural chambers have a legal status. The Chambers act on the territories of their voivodeships.

6 Representation of chambers at national level The national representation of all agricultural chambers is National Council of Agricultural Chambers. The National Council of each voivodeship agricultural chambers have legal personality The executive body of the National Council of Agricultural Chambers is the Board elected by it from among its members. The Board carries out its tasks with the help of the office, which is headed by the Director appointed by the Board.

7 Tasks of Agricultural Chambers The main and basic task of agricultural self-government is acting in oreder to solve problems of agriculture and represent interests of associated members. The agricultural chambers influence shape of the agriclutural policy and participate in its execution. The tasks of the chambers of agriculture include among others: Counselling in the scope of agricultural activity, agricultural household and additional income for farmers Raising qualifications of people employed in agriculture Preparing analyses, assessments, opinion and conclusions concerning agricultural production and market and presenting them to the government and local self-government Applaying to government administration bodies in the voivodship and to local self-government bodies with initiatives in the scope of legal regulations concerning agriculture rural areas and agricultural markets development and giving opinions on drafts of these regulations Analysing cost and profitability of agricultural production Taking actions in aid of development of agriculture and farm infrastructure and improvement of the agrarian structure

9 Advice services in agriculture in Poland Employment in the agricultural advisory units Center of Agricultural Advisory people Voivodship center of agricultural advisory people Employment in Agricultural Chambers in 16 agricultural chambers around 300 people Employment in private advisory entities Currently, accreditation for agricultural advisory has 187 private consulting entities, which employ a total of 436 advisors, and advisory for forest has 273 accredited entities (including 271 units to the State Forests, and 2 private operators), employing a total of 353 advisors 16 Voivodeship 313 Powiat 2489 Gmin

10 Training activities Training "The production of agricultural biogas - the benefits and risks" Recruitment of participants for the training of the entire Poland, training accessible and implemented in all Voivodeship. Training began in September 2010 was completed in April training sessions were conducted, during which 3543 people were trained from the planned Budget ,00 Training "Nurturing and protecting forest plantations" Recruitment of participants for the training of the entire Poland, training accessible and implemented in all Voivodeship. Training began in November 2013 was completed in December During this time it was conducted 400 training sessions, during which were trained people (employed in agriculture or forestry), which represents 92% of the planned number of participants (12 000). 11 Promotional activities From 2011 until 2015 we realized in cooperation with the Agricultural Chambers from all Voivodeship accros Poland 209 Picnics (including 46 in 2015). Promoting the consumption of polish cereals, milk, fruit and vegetables and meat. We run a webside promoting the consumption of pork

12 Training center of KRIR In 2016, we built a center with an office and training area of approx. 600 m2 in Parzniew (approx. 35 km from Warsaw) There is National Council of Agricultural Chambers (KRIR) office also planned training for farmers, beekeepers, foresters
