ACQUISITION OF HYDROPONIC GREEN FODDER CULTIVATION EQUIPMENT (AG)

The purpose of this project is provision of technical and economical arguments for hydroponic green fodder (HGF) cultivation and their subsequent utilization as an animal feedstuff. This will allow: - to use any potential capabilities in order to increase yield of dairy and beef products while using available and acquirable productive resources; - to increase production efficiency by purchasing AG hydroponic fodder cultivation equipment; - to increase fertility rate and productivity of farm animal and their resistance to various diseases by using HGF; - to justify investing money to purchase HGF cultivation equipment; - to provide a line of activity which allows the company to receive maximal income while using optimal amount of resources and available production capacities.

This project contemplates purchasing AG hydroponic green fodder cultivation equipment. According to contemporary agricultural standards (developed in accordance with contemporary scientific and technological advances), farm animals and poultry shall be produced using high agriculture technologies which place great emphasis on development of new methods of livestock and poultry management and feeding. These methods shall provide effective utilization of fodder, decrease costs of production, increase performance capabilities and safety index and improve quality of products.

The purpose of HGF cultivation Green fodder is cultivated in hydroponic units in order to produce fresh vegetative mass during winter period. Green fodder serves as a source of vitamins and biologically active substances necessary for proper farm animal nutrition. Green fodder consumption significantly increases animal fertility, livestock yield and their resistance to various diseases, thus, decreasing animal mortality, consumption of expensive vitamin concentrates, biologically active substances and veterinary drugs.

Technological chart HGF technological chart Stage 1 grain steeping Stage 2 growth and accumulation of vegetative mass

HGF cultivation equipment characteristics Name of model Production efficiency, kg per 24 hours Description and intended use АГ 0,05 45 Small-scale plants used by small family farms and owners of personal home gardens (PHG) in order to provide continuous (all year round) production of green vitamin fodder for livestock and poultry АГ 0,1 90 Small-scale plants used by small family farms and owners of personal home gardens (PHG) in order to provide continuous (all year round) production of green vitamin fodder for livestock and poultry АГ 1 (including greenhouse) 900 Small hydroponic greenhouse complex used by small family farms in order to provide continuous (all year round) production of green vitamin fodder for livestock and poultry АГ 3 (including greenhouse) 2800 Moderately-sized hydroponic greenhouse complex used by moderately-sized farms in order to provide continuous (all year round) production of green vitamin fodder for livestock and poultry АГ 5 (including greenhouse) 4500 Big hydroponic greenhouse complex used by moderately-sized and big farms and moderately-sized agricultural enterprises in order to provide continuous (all year round) production of green vitamin fodder for livestock and poultry

Competitive advantages of our equipment Utilization of HGF as livestock and poultry fodder has the following advantages compared to traditional diets: Nutritious value of diet increases Cost value decreases by 10-30% Incidence of livestock and poultry diseases decreases Body weight gain is significant Dependence of stock-breeding enterprises from weather and climate conditions decreases Productive prime of farm animals is prolonged

Introduction of HGF to livestock and poultry diet allows achieving results as follows: Bovine cattle Pigs Poultry - nutrient value of animal diet increases; - both quality and yield of cow milk increases by 40%; - young bovine cattle body weight gain and slaughter yield increases by 50-60%; - morbidity of young bovine cattle decreases; - productive prime of farm animals is prolonged; - grain crops are excluded from green conveyor system ; - dependence of stock-breeding enterprises from weather and climate conditions decreases. - breeding sows milk yield increases by 25.7%; - piglet safety index increases by 12.8%; - piglet litter weight increases by 29.8%; - piglets birth weight increases by 11.8%. Substitution of 25-30% of barley seeds with HGF lead to substantial decrease of fodder costs (by times). Geese become capable of laying eggs practically throughout the year. Gosling hatchability increases up to 90-95% and their safety index increases by 2%. Carotenoid concentration in eggs doubles. Young birds gain productive body mass within days.

Milk yield is increased by 23.5% Performance capabilities are increased by 10-15%, which constitute 2-3 l of milk per day Business efficiency and competitive capabilities increase Additional daily revenue is equal to Costs of animal safety products rubles per head of cattle Results of introduction of 30% Fodder costs are of HGF to bovine cattle diet Fodder costs are decreased by 22,5% Costs of animal safety products are decreased by 50% Gross profit is increased by 15%

Primary advantages of HGF are as follows: 1. Required amounts of HGF can be produced throughout the year regardless of climatic conditions. 2. Compared to grass and feed grain (natural livestock forage), HGF contain more vitamins, as it is raised in ideal conditions using hydroponic solutions while the crops are harvested when concentration of beneficial nutrient compounds and vitamins has reached its peak. According to experts, inclusion of HGF to animal diet allows to supply animal with 50-70% of required amount of vitamins 3. HGF chemical composition and nutritious value of dry matter is as good as original fodder 4. Verdant grass yield of cultivated grassland is 4-6 thousand fodder units per hectare, grass yield of free unrestricted grazing lands is 1 thousand fodder unit per hectare while grass yield of vegetation area of hydroponic plant is up to 3000 fodder units per hectare which means that hydroponic plant yield is 300 times higher. 5. HGF production is wasteless because the whole plant with proliferated root system is used as animal fodder. 6. HGF is rich in folic acid, a vitamin (B9) responsible for normal functioning of animal reproductive system and stimulation healthy animal proliferation. 7. In order to produce an amount of fodder required to raise 1 basic bovine cattle unit (calculated as 4000 fodder units per years) by using traditional method, about 1 hectare of agricultural land is required, if high agriculture methods are used, and about 1.5 hectare is required, if low agriculture methods are used. In order to produce an amount of fodder required to raise 1 pig, 0.3 or 0.5 hectares are required; the corresponding values for sheep are 0.1 or 0.15 hectares.

Investment performance factors Net present value during the life of NPV project 8 million 314 thousand rubles; Project payoff period including DPB discounting 3.3 years; Net Present Value of Returns (PI) 1.4; Internal rate of return IRR = 12.38% Modified internal rate of return MIRR = 12,76%.
