2 Dr. Avinash Deo, imgoats program organizer explaining the project details with special emphasis on India (above photo). The Small ruminant value chains for reducing poverty ad increasing food security in dryland areas in India and Mozambique (imgoats) is an IFAD-supported project for rural people especially those engaged in goat production. The imgoats focuses on the social mobilization and organization of rural people with interest on producing and raising goats to improve local income.

4 The imgoat technical staff and local farmer demonstrating the weighing of live goats prior to marketing in the village. The imgoat technical staff showing the intervention they introduced in the village to assist the goat raisers/farmers in determining the estimated live weight of goats prior to marketing. The intervention is now widely used in the area.
5 Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the local goat raisers/farmers of Jhadol, Udaipur District. The activity was facilitated by the imgoat Project Team headed by Mr. Sharma and Dr. Deo. The farmers sharing their experiences in raising goats especially the technical services they receive from the imgoat technical staff who regularly visits the village and extend technical services and assistance.
6 Replication Phase 2-ESV participants and imgoats Project Team posed with the stakeholders and project beneficiaries during the recent visit in Jhadol, Udaipur. Women goat raisers play an important role in the production and marketing system as well as in the value chain.

These include animal health, nutrition and production support services.
