2 FOOD INNOVATION AUSTRALIA LTD About us National initiative set up by the Australian government through department of industry innovation and science Not-for-profit company that is responsible for delivering the activities of the Food and Agribusiness Growth Centre The centrepiece of the Australian Government s industry policy and part of the Government s Industry Innovation and Competitiveness Agenda

3 From Mining To Dining The Food & Fibre sector is one of the dominant industries driving economic growth in Australia and is now our largest manufacturing industry. Sector increase, with food and grocery processing now making up 33 per cent of total Australian manufacturing. This growth is largely on the back of strong growth in exports food and beverage exports grew by 11 per cent to $26 billion. Fresh produce exports up 49 per cent to $1.5 billion and grocery (non-food) exports up 32 per cent to $4 billion.
