3 Perry 3 TEACHING EXPERIENCE: Advanced Physiology of Reproduction (ASc South Dakota State University): Graduate level reproductive physiology class taught fall semester of odd numbered years. Cattle Artificial Insemination School (South Dakota State University). From 2004 to 2012, 13 schools have been attended by over 300 participants. Opportunities in Animal and Range Sciences (ASc 100 South Dakota State University): Freshman level introductory class to the fields of Animal and Range Sciences. Guest lectures on estrous synchronization and reproductive technologies in Beef Production (ASc 474 South Dakota State University), Livestock Reproductive Physiology (ASc 433 South Dakota State University), Dairy Farm Management (DSc 412 South Dakota State University), Dairy Breeds and Breeding (DSc 411 South Dakota State University) Reproductive Management (ASc University of Missouri): Taught artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis in beef cows, developed a computer program for prediction of reproductive efficiency in beef cows and heifers, and yearly economic analysis, and developed web pages for the class that include the syllabus, class outline, computer program, and relative internet links. This group s primary goals are 1) Promoting wider adoption of reproductive technologies among cow-calf producers 2) Educating cow-calf producers in management considerations that will increase the likelihood of successful AI breeding, and 3) Educating producers in marketing options to capture benefits that result from use of improved reproductive technologies. b. This group has also developed recommended estrous synchronization protocols that have been published in all of the beef cattle semen catalogs. c. In collaboration with the Iowa Beef Center developed an Estrus Synch Planner with current estrous synchronization protocols and reference material for the protocols. Teach Annual Cattle Artificial Insemination Schools. From 2004 through 2012, 13 schools have been taught and have been attended by over 300 participants. Presentations and demonstrations to middle school, FFA and 4-H students on estrous synchronization, artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis. Editor of South Dakota State University s Annual Beef Report 2006 and Invited to present data at the National Cattlemen s Beef Association Annual Conference 2010, 2011, Invited to present data at the Four States Range Beef Cow Symposium 2005 and Presented unbiased data on reproductive management and efficiency in the form of group presentations to increase the knowledge base of producers and veterinarians. Over 80 meeting have been attended by over 3500 people.
