Farmers visit trial on Experimental 1st wheat at research farm of BHU on under USAID- (Experiential learning programme) 1st Visit, 16 farmers visited from Varanasi district
Visit of USAID- representatives
Output of NRM This experiment was started with the sole aim to sustain soil quality and productivity of rice wheat cropping system by supplementing a part of inorganic fertilizer with locally available organic resources Application of Recommended Dose of Fertilizers (RDF) along with Sulphur,Zinc and Boron( kg/ha) produced maximum grain yield but supplementation of 25 % nitrogen through organics seems to sustain the productivity of rice-wheat system in due course to time
There was a significant build up of S, Zn and B in soil when applied as inorganic sources. Organic supplementation particularly, application of sewage sludge also caused build up of Zn and B in soil About 125 farmers of different states were imported training on adoption of new technology. Apart from this, 80 M.Sc.(Ag) students were trained for conducting field experiments, recording observations in field, collection and analyses of soil and plant samples
TDIIA: Capacity Building Program Training programme for faculty members and scientists Training programme for students Training programme for farming community
Impact of Capacity Building on Crop Yield
Impact on Variability in Productivity
Impact on Cost Reduction
Impact on Cost Reduction T D I I A
Major suggestions made by respondents during survey Training should be enterprise/crop specific information related to various Central and State government sponsored schemes should be made available. Training on low cost storage techniques for potato. T D I I A
Major Impact of Capacity Building Has led to positive impact in enhancing farmers production and marketing capabilities leading to their social and economic empowerment. Farmers took interest in modern technologies for production of maize, pea and potato. Many farmers adopted the technologies and recommended it. Non-targeted were influenced by the success of trainee farmers.
Helped farmers to manage crop production risks and enhanced income. Reduction in unit cost of production the crops. Improvement of marketing capability of farmers leading to better price realization for their products. Higher farm income leading to better quality of life in farm households. Yield increase in crops covered under training and reduction in yield gap
