To produce more, in a different manner and different products, to ensure sustainable agriculture and food supply for the 9 billion inhabitants of our planet as we head towards 2050 To ensure food security and safety for all To develop agriculture and food processing industries which are more economic in terms of energy use and which use fewer chemical products To reconcile ecology and agrosciences
9 With what priorities and action plan? A support for the construction of partnerships with the actors of the global system for agricultural research The creation of an International Research School offering thematic, multidisciplinary research-based courses, open to a broad range of questions and to candidates worldwide The launch of an Information and Services Platform to make member resources easily accessible Joint international representation by pooling expertise in international relations The formulation of joint projects closely linking research, education, development and international actions Development and follow-up of the Agrimonde foresight study, including a new foresight study on land uses Mobilisation of the expertise of its members to provide institutional or academic c support to partners

11 Two emerging disciplines predictive biology (bridge between integrative biology and modelling) Agro-ecology (= cross-fertilisation of ecological, agronomic and zootechnical disciplines) with extensions towards the economic and social sciences.
12 Two strategic tools Agrimonde, a foresight tool initiated and developed by INRA and CIRAD and promoted by Agreenium WAW, the World Agriculture Watch,, to assess and compare changes in agriculture (with the FAO)
