2 FoKSBI What Is FoKSBI? The Government s of Indonesia has policies for sustainable palm oil. Multi-stakeholder forum, coordinated and led by government. Aim: Create a stronger commitment from multi-stakeholder towards long-term sustainable palm oil development. Function: develop, recommend, and monitor the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) for Sustainable Palm Oil. These policies can only be met if there are commitment and partnership among the multistakeholders. FoKSBI is very strategic for government to coordinate the good efforts by multi-stakeholders towards sustainable palm oil development. Why FoKSBI?

6 NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL Developed by members of FoKSBI WG I-IV through a transparent dialog process. Has been consulted to related stakeholders for input, gain commitment and support Consultation done regionally ( Riau, South Sumatera, North Sumatera, West Kalimantan ), nationally and internationally through online media (foksbi.id), webinar A multistakeholder drafting team will review all input received and refine draft into final NAP SPO The final one will be presented to the Steering Committee for support and endorsement Aim for legalizing the NAP to secure commitment

8 NATIONAL ACTION PLAN (NAP) Pre Conditions for the NAP implementation : There are three pre conditions that will support the implementation of NAP succesfully 1.Funding : Need appropriate funding support from several sources : APBN, APBD, CPO Fund, Company s CSR, Other appropriate funding sources. 2.Better coordination among government agency. 3.Law Enforcement
9 COMPONENTS OF NAP CAPACITY BUILDING FOR SMALLHOLDERS 1. Increase the use of certified seeds 2. Increase GAP training 3. Increase access to funding for replanting 4. Establishing and strengthening smallholders organizations 5. Improve extensions services ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING 1. Improve biodiversity conservation 2. Reducing GHG emission from forest fire 3. Improve regulations related to GHG emission reduction 4. Usage of most appropriate land for plantation 5. Develop alternative energy sources 6. Protection of environmental services GOVERNANCE AND CONFLICT MEDIATION 1. Implementation of One Map Policy 2. Community plantation development 3. Address land conflict issues quicker ISPO AND MARKET ACCESS 1. Accelerate ISPO certification 2. Increase ISPO acceptance by national and international stakeholders 3. Strengthen the institution and governance of ISPO
